Mumbai: The US would be spending a whopping $200 million (Rs. 900 crore approx) per day on President Barack Obama's visit to the city.
"The huge amount of around $200 million would be spent on security, stay and other aspects of the Presidential visit," a top official of the Maharashtra Government privy to the arrangements for the high-profile visit said.
About 3,000 people including Secret Service agents, US government officials and journalists would accompany the President. Several officials from the White House and US security agencies are already here for the past one week with helicopters, a ship and high-end security instruments.

Has any other President had the switch for the nukes in his vehicle?
It’s absolutely vulgar. He’s power drunk.
I wonder if the White House will be leaving any bed bugs behind?
Is this standard procedure?

All roads close to the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel, where US President Barack Obama will be staying during his visit to the financial capital, will remain closed for public for two days.
“Obama will be in the city on November 6 and 7. We have made adequate security arrangements for Obama, a world leader who has a high threat perception,” Joint Police Commissioner (Law & Order) Rajnish Seth said.
The roads connecting the Taj Hotel, booked entirely for the US President, will be closed for two days, he said.
“We have made appropriate arrangements to ensure minimal inconvenience to the people living in residential buildings very close to Taj area. Passes have been issued to car owners. Over 500 passes have been issued so far,” he said.

Mumbai: No ferry boats will be sailing off the Gateway of India for three days: November 5, 6 and 7. Given the vulnerability of the coastline, security agencies are taking all possible measures during the Obama visit.
Operations of private ferry boats and cruise boats going to Alibaug, Mandwa, Elephanta Island and Rewas have been asked to stay closed for three days.

I don’t know... I don’t suppose it’s the kind of thing that a normal POTUS would advertise. This guy, though, is crazy. He’s probably spilled ice cream all over it.
I thought he was leaving Thursday, Nov 4. Is he spending a day with aliens?
maybe Aunt Zanuti is going, too?
I have a better comparison!
That much money could provide a check for the 20,000,000 working Americans who are currently unemployed ---- each for $100. Not quite a month's mortgage payment but enough to feed a family for a week.
“Look on the bright side, 3,000 people/200 rooms is 15 per room. The Zero is trying to save us poor tax payers a few bucks.”
700 rooms, not 200.
Is there no way we can stop this madness?
Actually, more like ghetto trash unable to resist the temptation to live, albeit briefly, beyond his fellow ghettoers wildest dreams ---- on whitey's nickle.
They're leeching off other peoples pay checks. That's how the Obomas have always lived. They've always been low life scrounges. This time, there is no limit on how much they can steal, and they're taking full advantage of it while they can. They only have two years left to savor their free, taxpayer paid caviar, so they're going to eat like pigs while they still can.
How much for a ONE WAY ticket???
Totally disgusting. Arrogant bastards.

This is sooooooooo ming boggling! Why would the POTUS need 3000 people around him on a state visit?? What’s so important in India that he has to go there and have that much people/security with him.
Chris Mattews is right — he’s such an elitist.
US to spend $200 mn a day on Obama’s Mumbai visit/bookmarked
