Post what you're seeing, hearing in your district, county or state during the day and evening- anecdotal or otherwise!
GOTV!!!!!
I saw a person of color yesterday in the store with a sweatshirt with FUBO in BIG letters on the front.
Does that phrase have meaning other than the one we’re familiar with?
Very welcome. Also, someone posted a link to the HTML Sandbox just two entries above your last post. Click on it and you’re home free.
I'll vote later today, spoke with our company owner in FL this morning, he reported down there they ask for you DL and compare it to the signature on file....I'm very impressed, hopefully when we get a new governor here in Wisconsin we'll get some of those rule.
Voted in Mass. Great turn out in my prec. as of 8:30AM 350 people had voted in my Merrimack Valley town. On the same pace as Jan 19th(Scott Browns victory)Scott won our town by 4500 vote with 15,000 cast. This is a good sign for repub. if it continues to trend this way. I’m hoping for 3 - 5 Democrat congressman going down in Mass today(3CD,4CD,5CD,6CD,10CD).
I know lots of you have given up on MA but remember we were where the first and second revolutions began.
Moderate turnout at my polling place in York County, Virginia, part of the 1st Congressional District. Line was short at mid-morning (less than five minutes waiting time). District is strongly Republican; incumbent Congressman Robb Wittman should trounce his Democratic challenger (the unfortunately-named Krystal Ball) by more than 20 points.
Weather is perfect; clear, cool, temperatures in the low 50s. Turnout likely influenced by the limited ballot (only the Congressional race and three ballot initiatives). As you’d expect, there was a much higher turnout in 2009, when the GOP swept the races for statewide office.
Lest we forget, the conservative tsunami began in Virginia and New Jersey one year ago. If the Republicans elected today are as successful as Bob McDonnell and Chris Christie, we’ll be in very good shape, as a party and as a nation.
I have that shirt too! It means “F U Barack Obama”. (teenage boy giggle commences)
Very nicely done.
How did you get your html stuff to show up instead of being interpreted?
Sky was very overcast, gray.
Lines were not long because there were many booths.
Parking was further away than usual.
All -R-s were blackened.
Polls crowded in North Ga. I live in a strong red county. The most important issue is keeping Roy Barnes OUT.
The signs say:
NoBama
NoBarnes
Voted in northern Virginia (Jim Moron’s district) around 10:30. Big line, took 20 minutes to get to the machine, noted most (maybe 20 out of 25)of the people in line had GOP ballots in hand. Wouldn’t it be sweet if ....
Nah, this is NoVA, it couldn’t happen. Or could it?
Well, I was shocked because this was a tall black guy.
Just think of the trouble that would give Karl Rove (or better yet, Charles Krauthammer).
Cheers!
Give her 12 more years, and she’ll be voting with me.
And hopefully throwing lead downrange with me as well (if I ever get my guns out of that damn pond they fell in to)
I’ll take a shot at this.
As I understand it, Democrats are notorious for being lackluster voters. Dem voters include many young people who have heads still full of mush from recent schooling, and the welfare gang which doesn’t get up early and often doesn’t even know it’s election day, especially for midterm elections. These two voter bases compose a large % of their group.
Young people who two years ago were looking for Hope and Change cause it sounded too cool, are not particularly moved to fight hangovers to go vote for, as an example, a Chris Coons. Same with the welfare class.
So a LARGE turnout depends on which party is doing the large turnout.
In summary, well there’s really no correct answer as to what a large turnout means as we don’t know, until the results I suppose, WHO’S doing the turning out.
EXCEPT.....a large turnout for mid-terms, as many pundits and popular sentiment have been vocal, is unusual. The common thought is that most likely a large turnout will likely be due to Republicans as this group expresses more voting passion in the various polls, AND there’s a visceral mood in this country to get out and tell Obama to stuff it where the sun don’t shine. The welfare class will probably sit this one out.
I think you may have mis-read FUBU (For us, by us). A major garment maker targeting Americans of color.
done!! Voted LAZ for my Rep, Senate, and Governor!!!
I'm not telling anyone how I'll vote this afternoon, but it rhymes with MEPUBLICAN!
You have to put spaces in between it. If you type < space i space > then it will show up like < i > and won’t work to create HTML.
I’ve learned the hard way that HTML is persnickety and likes to be all cozily together.
