Millions Of Calif Vote-By-Mail Ballots Unreturned
Nov 1, 2010 2:00 pm US/Pacific
SACRAMENTO (AP) - Millions of Californians have not yet returned their vote-by-mail ballots, and county election officials say the flood of returns expected on Tuesday could delay results in tight races.
As of Monday morning, many counties had received only about half of the absentee ballots they had mailed out.
More than 7.6 million absentee ballots were requested statewide for the general election. In some counties, vote-by-mail is expected to exceed in-person voting.
That means a huge number of last-minute returns will not be counted on election night, and the most competitive races may remain too close to call.

Therefore one must believe that those who returned them were more `enthusiastic`? Advantage GOP?
In the past it has been rumored that California doesn’t count absentee ballots if it appears all the races are statistically “decided”.
Less than 50% will vote anyway. SO why should mail-in ballots be any different?
So how long do these pinheads get to return those ballots?
My guess - yes. Boxer needs every vote she can get her hands on this time around.
Is this news to anyone? Another attempt at a stolen election.
Looks like Grampy is a yes-on-19 man.
They do count all absentee ballots.
I haven’t sent mine in yet, tomorrow I’m going down to vote in person, instead.
Is there a post office at the grave yard?
Maybe not.
Let's say an organized effort was made to request absentee ballots.
OK ... who says they need to be used?
I talked to two people who said they never did GET the absentee ballots that were sent to them.
Therefore one must believe that those who returned them were more `enthusiastic`? Advantage GOP?

My tho’ts exactly. You beat me to it.
you can take the ballot they send in mail to polls on Election day and drop it off
Heyyyy.
I haven’t sent mine in yet, I decided to go in person, which I do every time anyway.
I signed up for permanent absentee just to make sure that I never miss a vote, it is a belt, and suspenders thing for me.
Either it has to show up in the mail tomorrow or they gotta bring it to a precinct or a county election office by close of polls at 8 PM.
I would think so.
Mine and Mrs Drango’s are in...and the computer shows them as returned. We can tell as we both volunteer for David Harmmer’s CA 11 campaign.
