Vanity: 1994 Election Coverage on Youtube
Youtube ^ | 2010 | Bayernfan1960

Posted on 11/01/2010 4:19:23 PM PDT by RabidBartender

I was surfing Youtube, trying to find some quote Connie Chung made on the air after the Republicans took control of Congress (still haven't found it), when I found these gems.

This guy has posted ~20 ten-minute clips of coverage from CNN, CBS, and ABC, if you want to relive that historic night sixteen years ago (damn, I'm old).

If anyone finds the clip where Connie Chung throws a fit, let me know.

She got a sex change operation and changed her name to Wang Chung.

Didn’t Rush do a special election night broadcast? I remember him constantly cuing up James Brown singing “I FEEL GOOD!”

Man, that was some kind of night. I hope tomorrow tops it.

The election meltdown I remember was in NY when Guiliani first won. NYC had a Dem mayor for years, and they ran the place into the ground. It was dirty, dangerous and all the Dems were concerned about was protecting the homeless and the gays.

When Guiliani was elected - I don’t know who it was, one of the black anchors had a fit. He said people are going to get what they voted for, and he was furious.

Looking at names moving up in ‘94, such as Thompson and Bush and others that made waves over the years since makes me think that the wave tomorrow will bring up many newcomers to higher offices that will be leading the packs over the next 20 years. Great to have a great crop of conservatives up and coming!

I had taped his tv show the following night. It was SO fun!

Unfortunately, I must have recorded over it. Still kicking myself for that.

I was 15 years old and was the first election I actually followed. Stayed up WAY past my bedtime, but I had a huge smile on my face the next morning.

I will be having a repeat tomorrow!

The rot start with RINO John Vliet Lindsay. Wagner was a Democrat and a much, much better mayor. Under Lindsay welfare roles swelled and civil service unions ran amok.

Thanks, I wasn’t voting at the time (too young) so I was unaware of that, although I always suspected that.

On another note, my husband was very proud of a picture of his late dad with “the mayor”. I took a look at it one day and it’s Mayor Wagner. So that’s nice to hear.
