Randy Moss sounded Sunday night like he would much rather still be a New England Patriot than Minnesota Viking.
He may now actually get his wish.
The Vikings shockingly waived Moss on Monday, less than one month after acquiring him in a trade with New England. Coach Brad Childress informed the team early Monday afternoon.
NFL Network first reported that Moss was waived.
Moss release comes less than 24 hours after a controversial news conference following a 28-18 road loss to New England. Moss praised the Patriots repeatedly while taking a swipe at Vikings coaches and players for allegedly not heeding his pregame advice on how to best his former team.
Moss also specifically knocked head coach Brad Childress for unsuccessfully attempting to score a fourth-down touchdown from the Patriots 1-yard line rather than kicking a field goal at the end of the first half.

buh-bye
But does NE want him?
Better headline would be
“California waives Barbara Boxer”
“US waives Barack Obama”
Please don’t bring the nut to Dallas...We already have enough problems.
This guy would make a great policician. Charlie Crist would be proud.
Wow! I read the interview and he really took a lot of backhanded swipes at various Vikings. Not a Viking’s fan, but kudos to them for having the gumption to take a firm stand against such public insubordination!
Way to go Minnesota, trade a 3rd round pick for a guy and cut him after 4 games, really taking care of the future of the team there. I’ll laugh myself right into the hospital if the Pats pick him up.
“Vikings waive Randy Moss”
AGAIN? That’s the third time they’ve done that today.

They probably did it because he wouldn’t use the search function.

Go Skins!
somebody will pick him up I guess, if they think they are one receiver away from being a playoff team. He really does seem to be poison. Some people just are like that.
Maybe he can coach the Skins.....
It’s not a firm stand, it’s an idiot move. They were desperate for a deep threat, so they traded for him, and then the offensive line couldn’t keep their QB up long enough to make deep passes, and he pointed out that the team kind of sucks (they’re 2-5), and now they cut him. So for 4 games of a guy they hardly threw to the lose a 3rd round draft pick next year. That’s just plain dumb.
Randy’s not really a nut. He’s got a wife and four kids (with his wife) and never got in any serious trouble. He’s no nutcase T.O.
That’s funny! My first thought after reading the headline was, “Maybe Dallas will take him.”
I’m sorry. :(
No but he’s a jerk.
Dallas could use him. I don’t watch TV or ball games but Jerry Jones is pissed off. Corncob Phillips is in big trouble. Ay least CornCob’s pappy was a Marine. Junior’s never been worth a God d*mn.
Texas RINOs being taxed to death to pay for Jerry’s billion $ white elephant.
He’s not poison at all. There were no substantiated reports of a problem in the Pats locker room. The only problem at all was between him and management, we wanted a long term contract and they weren’t handing any out, but even that his position was “I’ll play out the season and hope for the best”. And he’s been towing the line in Minnesota until they only threw to him twice and apparently ignored his advice on how to win the game (you really should listen to the guy that played for the team last month, he might have some insight). He played well during his stint in NE, you can tell because they traded a 4th rounder to get him and managed to trade him for a 3rd rounder. But NE saw an opportunity to help mess up the Jets (the Vikes next opponent after the trade), and apparently already had something going to get Branch back after his time in the wilderness, so they traded him. The fact that he hasn’t been useful to Minnesota is entirely Minnesota’s fault, this is a team in vast disarray with a coach that can’t even bench his QB, and a QB that obviously should have stayed on the farm.
As a Patriots fan of many years, I hope the Patriots take him back.
