Randy Moss' bizarre press conference Sunday night wound up being his farewell to Minnesota.
NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reports that the Vikings waived Moss on Monday. At his Monday press conference, Vikings coach Brad Childress mentioned that he allowed Moss to stay back in Boston for a few days before re-joining the team. Looks like he can stay there.
We have no reason to believe the story is not true, but PFT can report via a league source that Moss is not yet aware that he's been released.

You really do need to watch this goomba every week to really appreciate his amateur-hour approach. Two weeks ago it was leaving Adrian Freaking Peterson on the bench for the last drive in Green Bay.
Yesterday it was going for it on fourth and goal on the road in a tied game where a field goal would have given him the lead and the second half kickoff. Then it was about running a jumbo package where everyone in the stadium knew who was going to get the ball and where it was going. Amazingly, it didn’t work.
And amazingly, Klink lost again.
Your OP was in Breaking News. That’s where I found the article. Anyhow it isn’t there now but there are at least three threads going. Yours happens to be first :)
He could not have been opening things up for the other receivers. Per the Vikings earlier this year and after watching them play, they have no other receivers of note.
Favre was doing a good job of hitting those non-existent receivers then. Whatever else went wrong in Foxborough yesterday, Moss’s play wasn’t the cause. The biggest problem seemed to be the Vikes’ DBs giving up some atrocious plays. One went through the DB’s hands and the other was when Tait rambled in for a TD after getting open by 15 years.
Even if Faver never hit any receivers, Peterson benefited from the fact that at least one safety wasn’t there to stop the run. A lot of his eight yard runs would have been four yards without Moss taking a safety away.
No, it wasn’t in Breaking News. I put it in Extended News, and that is where it has been the entire time.
LOL...that has to be better than getting a text message from "Mr. Open Fly Jeans"...
The complaint the Vikings used to justify trading for Moss was that they had no other good receivers. Hearing that, as a receiver, might have made it a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I over the years enjoyed watching him play the game.
Yeah, that is just what we Cowboys' Fan really need!!!!!
Was this today or 1998?
I would have agreed then.
Yep, Moss and the Boys would be the final straw!!
