SHINNSTON, W.Va. — The day after Sarah Palin stumped for his Republican opponent, West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin said he and the former Alaska governor are “friends.”

“We get along; we’re friends,” said Manchin. “Sarah, Todd, and the entire family was always very nice at all of our National Governors Association meetings, and we worked well together.”

Why doesn’t Manchin just switch parties? Might as go along with the flow.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he did (if he wins) — the seat will be back up in 2012.

Friends with a Dem governor?? If you believe the Politico story earlier this evening, she doesn’t have many friends among Republicans!

(See Greta’s interview with Sarah, 11 minutes long, where Greta spends a good five minutes blasting Politico’s use of unnamed sources, background quotes, etc. to trash Sarah.

If he is a Senator, 6-year term, he can NOT be up for re-election in 2012. Now if he was selected for his seat by the Governor, he could be up again, but I’m not too sure about this one. Where are you getting this information?

Byrd croaked. This is a special election to finish out Byrd’s term. Next regular election is scheduled for 2012.

That too. Palin is apparently populer is WV. And Munchkin—er, Manchin—recognizes that.

A friend would have stood up and defended her against the barrage of lies and character assassination she faced.

I’ve wondered about that. He’s to the right of many CINOs. Maybe after the election? That said, I still hope Rease wins.

PS Politico? BARF

Heh, should have know that... Thanks,... glad to hear that he can not be elected for more that 2 years without getting re-elected. That is actually good news... So even if the Democrats cheat and pull out this victory, it will only be for two years and depends upon him voting reasonably (ie. Republican). Sounds like a win-win situation to me...

Manchin is just a phony who will say whatever he has to in order to be elected. Think Charlie Crist, only much better at it.

Alot of democrats actually suspect he will, depending on 2 main factors....

1) Which way the wind is blowing.

2) Who can or will give him the better offer.

If he thinks Obama is a sinking ship and is going to hurt his chances in 2012, he'll jump ship.

I can't find the article again, but I did read somewhere a belief by some democrats that they suspect something along the lines that if he jumps, he won't be going along, and may take Jim Webb with him.

You mean old man McCain did’nt? He is a republican.
It was so obvious during their campaign, the DOM never
let an opportunity go by to hug Sarah. Sarah was well
aware of the DOM and always had her hubby nearby.

Remember this my friends: Every time a politician or elected official tells a bold face lie, he is saying the electorate are a bunch of dummies who can’t decipher truth from falsehood, so I’m going to tell it my way! Lying public officials are arrogant, and think that the people he is supposed to be serving are idiots fools, ready to be fleeced!
