We’ve been waiting for it and expecting it, knowing that it would happen. Obama’s October surprise has landed (pun intended), or so it would seem.
How convenient! Five days before the November 2nd election, Obama comes up with a so-called “credible” security alert and takes the opportunity to “brief” Americans (on TV of course, with the ubiquitous teleprompter) on how competent he is and how in-control the government is of this terrorist threat from Yemen. F-15’s were reported to be shadowing an airplane that was coming in from Yemen, over Canadian airspace, before it landed at JFK. As we all know, Yemen is the hotbed of Al Queda-sponsored terrorist activity, at the hands of an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki, who turned traitor, or so we are told. Does anyone trust what government tells us these days?
Anwar al-Awlaki was seen having dinner at the Pentagon, before he bolted America to take up residence in Yemen and direct some dastardly attacks on America. (i.e. the Christmas underwear bomber, the Fort Hood shooting and the Times Square Bomber) Yeah, you bet. Al-Awlaki must be a bad guy, no doubt.
Now it is possible that the October 29th threat was real and that Obama is doing what he is supposed to be doing as Commander-in-Chief and our intelligence agencies are johnny-on-the-spot with all the current international intrigue and terrorist plots. We certainly hope so. But damn the timing is suspect.
Having said all that, let’s take another tack on this potential October surprise. Many in the world, at the highest level, (government elite, money changers and power brokers) want to see Obama and the Democrats remain in power in America, for a whole host of reasons. Could it be that this whole event was a staged terrorist attempt to challenge American security

First of all, dude, Amanpour is a paid advocate for the so-called Palestinians! She wants to help our Muslim president!

Briefing us in order to demonstrate his ‘competence’ should scare the hell out of Americans with a brain. This is the Bozo who says we can absorb another 9/11, but can we absorb two more years of this imbecilic, Marxist-Muslim, anti-president?
Since Obama himself used to accuse Bush of using the terrorist scare tactic to drum up political support, I have no doubt that’s what this is. Obama has no regard for genuine terrorist threats. He only cares about those which he can use as a “crisis which will never be wasted.”
Numerous polls have shown that America favors the Republicans over the Dems when dealing with terrorism.
If this was the surprise, it was a very stupid one.
Especially given the kissy-face relationship this administration has had with all things Islamic.

Doesn’t matter. This is not a “terrorism” election, for better or worse, the only thing people care about is the economy and jobs. There is no “October Surprise” that the president can manufacture in regards to those.
Our stupid local media ditz made it the center of our Arizona news segment on talk radio for all of Friday afternoon. Yeah, that’s real Arizona news all right. We just heard the crap at the top of the hour. But she was breathlessly panting about “the president, the president,” no doubt auditioning to be Nina Totenberg, who says the same thing whenever we have a Democrat president.
Not being a conspiracy theorist and not wishing to be called a whack job I have been wondering just a bit.
According to the reports this was a viable bomb hooked to a cell phone and all it woulld take is a call to set the thing off.
Why no call? Why didnt they blow up the UPS plane.
Were they all that set on waiting until the package reached some little Jewish synagogue in Bunsuck New York? When they heard of the first being found why ddin’t they set off the alledged others? It sounds a little fishy, but I am sure we can place our faith and safety in the hands of Hussein Obama.

I dont think it is an October surprise because it doesnt help Obama or the Democrats. If they think it does then they dont understand how the public sees them.
