CNN Poll: Large advantage for GOP as election nears (Republicans 52-42 Dems)
CNN ^

Two days before the midterm elections, a new national poll indicates that Republicans have a 10-point lead over the Democrats in a crucial indicator in the battle for control of Congress.

The GOP's 10 point advantage in the "generic ballot" question in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation national survey released Sunday is slightly larger than the seven point advantage Republican candidates had on the eve of the 1994 midterms, when the party last took control of Congress from the Democrats.

"But unlike 1994, when polls indicated the public had a positive view of the Republican party, a majority of Americans now do not have a favorable view of the GOP," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

According to the poll, 52 percent of likely voters say they will vote for the generic Republican in their congressional district, with 42 percent saying they will vote for the generic Democrat, four percent saying neither and two percent undecided. The GOP's 10-point lead is up from a seven-point advantage in a CNN poll conducted in early October.

Yes amazing. They’re a little miffed because the ‘electorate’ is just not falling for all their little stunts and contrived stories any longer. The media have their panties twisted in a wad over that. They’ve tried simply everything, for our own good of course, to convince us that the marxist is wonderful. *sigh* What’s a body to do?

Control Americans? Try herding cats, it’s easier.

"and making noises about Republican poll watchers intimidating the Dem vote, etc.,"

Wow! Who knew that these guys were Republicans! Get Eric Holder on the line!

“and he is spinning that Murkowski will vote with Republicans if she is elected.”

Ugh.

“We need Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Rand Paul and Joe Miller along with other outside the RINO tent people to stir things up in Washington big time.”

Absolutely.

The problem with FOX election coverage compared to CNN:

1. CNN will at least show raw totals so that people with expertise can assess for themselves what is going on

2. BOR in anchor chair is a disaster and doesn’t know what he talking about - hopefully they will sideline him completely on Tuesday

3. The FOX graphics stink and they are always playing catch-up relative to the other networks

4. FOX makes juvenile and factual errors on candidates, races, parties - they look like high school kids

Let’s hope they are better this year

After quickly scanning through the rules I get the distinct feeling we’re all going to be quite sloppy by 9pm, if not sooner.

The 41 we start with is really about 37 or fewer considering so many RINOS. The expected gains are PA, AR, WI, ND, and IN. I think CO is shaky. Even with CO and CA, we come only to 48.

Why is today’s ten percent lead only ‘slightly better’ than the 7% lead the GOP enjoyed in advance of the ‘94 elections? To me, in politics, that’s a significant increase.

Exactly! What that means is simply that Americans have an unfavorable view of the ruling ‘elite’ of either Party.

They’ve already been spinning for days.

1) It is only about the economy NOT the Obama Admin’s policies and NOT about the healthcare bill. Anything less than a complete tsunami in this economic environment is a win for the Obama Admin.

2) It is an anti-incumbent wave not an anti-Democrat wave.

3) Voters do not like Republicans either. This is not a mandate for Republican policies.

4 Voters want to be ruled from the center, which in Democrat lala land means left, not from the right.

5) Liberal policies are too genius for the average voter to understand.
