(CNN) - A surprising new Senate poll in Delaware shows Republican Christine O'Donnell may be in striking distance of Democrat Chris Coons.
According to the new survey from Monmouth University, the surprise Republican nominee is only 10 points behind Coons, drawing 41 percent of the vote. In a previous Monmouth poll conducted two weeks ago, O'Donnell trailed by 19 points.
But the latest Monmouth survey differs substantially from two other recent polls, including a Farleigh Dickinson survey released Thursday that showed a 21-point advantage for Coons and a CNN/Time poll released earlier this month that indicated a 19-point lead for Coons.
The latest Monmouth poll surveyed 1,171 voters between October 25-27 and carries a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

I probably used the word incorrectly, in that I do not believe that he is a traitor to our country.
However, I do wish him the worst.
Don’t hatch your chickens before you count your eggs.

Funny, I had the same dream. Here’s hoping. :-)
This would be amazing.....so amazing I have little hope :(
Amen.
Yes this would be the ultimate slap in the face to the democrat-socialist-media propaganda complex, and also to the elite beltway GOP establishment.
And while I think Ms. O’Donnell would be an excellent United States Senator, I just don’t see it happening. I pray that it does, and would welcome it, but honestly, it’s just too big a hill to climb this late in the day.
The democrats will lose everywhere else but the media will hype this one race to the death about it being a major and significant victory for 0bama and his policies, while they ignore all other races. They are already setting up for it.
When the National Organization of Women comes to the aid of a conservative Republican, one will know that there will be a backlash among voters.
Articles like this may win Christine sympathy votes from people who might have voted Democrat or who are sitting on the fence...
“karl, quick, knock her down a few pegs before she wins”
LOL
“Rush stated that Obama is coming back to Delaware to campaign for Coons.”
We have been told repeatedly that Obama is only going there to be seen with a winner. This is nonsense of course, but it does raise the question: does this mean that Lamar Alexander is only going in order to be seen with a loser?
“The difference may turn out to be the likes of Rove etc. dissing Christine.”
But, but DE was Conservatives faults for backing such a wacko over our electable FRiend Mike Castle! /sarc
It also means a head to head White House versus Palin and the Tea Party at weekend rallies in DE...?
Let 2012 begin! :)
I got news for you.
54 is nothing. 54 degrees is a mild November day along and north of the OH Riv and the Mason-Dixon line.
You mean: Don’t count your hatches till the eggs have chickens!!!
!?!
A lot depends on the wind. Right now it’s 54 outside and quite nice. Last night, when I got out of work, it was 54 with a 15-20mph wind, and it cut through me like a knife.
Will be praying hard for this one, especially.
