Delaware: O'Donnell Cuts Coons' Edge (Monmouth Poll, 51-41 and Closing)
Monmouth University Poll ^ | 10/29/10 | Patrick Murray

Posted on 10/29/2010 7:43:12 AM PDT by TonyInOhio

In the past two weeks, Republican Christine O'Donnell has narrowed Democrat Chris Coons' lead in Delaware's US Senate Race from 19 points to 10 points. The latest Monmouth University Poll finds Coons has the support of 51% of likely voters to 41% for O'Donnell. Two weeks ago, the race stood at 57% to 38%.

~ snip ~

O'Donnell has also made gains among independent voters, now leading Coons 47% to 42% among this voting bloc. Two weeks ago, she trailed in the independent vote by 51% to 41%.

"While Coons still has the advantage, it has to be uncomfortable knowing that O'Donnell was able to shave 9 points of his lead in just two weeks."

This race is far from over, and it appears that the momentum is with Christine O'Donnell.

Absolutely incredible! Now, it’s all a matter of turnout. The Tea Party Express and AFP need to invade that state like ticks on a dog.

Again to AFP (since I know they are smart enough to follow FR): Hire Mark Lloyd — NOW. He can put together a door to-door in Delaware that will turn this election!

This shows a 10 point differential. The polls from two weeks ago showed an average differential of 11 points.

That was up from a previous average of 15 points.

She has steadily improved her numbers, but she has about 96 hours to close the gap.

I don’t have much faith in the raw numbers, one way or the other, but the trend is the important thing. Too little, too late? Or are the polls just a lagging indicator of movement?

I have truly been holding out hope for this race. I want her to beat all the “know it alls.” Political analysts are not the end-all, the VOTER is.

The Gawker smear will bring out a lot of women who didn’t know they were for her until today.

If O’Donnell wins in bluest-blue Delaware then the GOP will take 100 seats in the House and take control of the Senate.

Chris Christie won in NJ when all the polls showed him behind. Same with Scott Brown in MA.

It aint over ‘til the fat lady sings.

Reality is, she could win this.

Turn out is her key.

DON’T BELIEVE THE POLLS!!

They are WAY OFF this election (like 20 to 30 % off)

For example, Carl Paladino was said to be TIED to Little Ricky Lazio in the primary polls on monday- on tuesday he beat him by 25%

Turnout was up 400% in some precincts

TURNOUT IS KEY- IF EVERY SINGLE FREEPER CONVINCES JUST ONE VOTER TO GO AND VOTE (R) WE WILL WIN IN A LANDLSIDE

I am hoping that a lot of people are reluctant to tell people (including pollsters) that they are for O’Donnell, but when they vote they will remember her saying “I will do what you’d do.”

I agree, she is closing, and her internals show this-—as Rush alluded to yesterday. Don’t know if she can close fast enough, but she has the mo.

This reminds me of the momentum Scott Brown had going into the MA election. Grass roots enthusiasm, sneering MSM, huge Dem machine, traditionally safe blue state.

If the Dems lose this one and Reid loses in NV it will be quite remarkable. And incredibly amusing..

Even in today's age, and even among the Democrat voters there still flickers a fragile flame of decency which many good Americans, even Democrats among them, will no doubt find has been disgraced by the treatment of Christine O'Donnell.

If Americans feel that they are doing her wrong and that feeling is in keeping with their general feeling about how the country is going, enough of them just might do the right thing.

Reality is, she could win this.

And, if she does, Christine O'Donnell will be a fantastic United States Senator. Delaware will have someone who will make them proud!

Fantastic! Hope they take the time while they’re there to help set up a door-to-door and get-out-the-vote operation.
