MIAMI — Hispanics are increasingly concerned about a backlash against them, even as they are split over the effects of illegal immigration on the country. Their anxiety comes as illegal immigration and border security are playing major roles in election campaigns nationwide.
More than 60 percent of Latinos say discrimination against Hispanics is a "major problem," up from 54 percent who said the same in 2007, according to a report to be released Thursday by the nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center.
Three years ago, Hispanics were most likely to cite language skills as the biggest reason for discrimination. Now, more than a third believe immigration is the biggest factor.
That said, the number of Latinos who reported they, their family or close friends have experienced discrimination remained unchanged from last year and actually dropped from 2007.

I have no problem with Hispanic people if they are here legally. I love their culture, food, music, passion, and chikas.
But I have an abiding aversion for the illegal aliens who seek to drain and destroy our nation. They need to leave, AND pronto. All patriotic Hispanic Americans, and legal aliens should turn the others in so we can rid ourselves of this illegal alien demographic warfare.

How about the Pew Hispanic Center survey 1,375 Non-Hispanic Adults that have had their identity stolen, loved one killed by an illegal, or can’t get a construction/factory job because of an illegal and get back to me with those results! You shouldn’t have any problem if you search in Texas, NM, AZ or Cali to find 1,375 folks that fit that demographic.

Napolitano throws in the towel once again. Just as she told us "we can't deport tens of thousands of people" (even though both Truman and Eisenhower did, and THEN some). Now she tells us we "can't seal the border", but "we can secure it." Cleaning house on Nov. 2nd is not enough. The new House leadership must drag Janet, Morton and Holder before committees to ream them over their incompetence and vicious war against Arizona and the rule of law.
THINGS TO DO WHEN WE TAKEOVER (1) Landmine the border, and, (2) kick Napolitano’s sorry posterior all the way to downtown Tijuana.

Taxpaying Americans are the ones being discriminated against. Criminals and other assorted anti-Americans are fully encouraged to walk all over us while spitting in our faces.
Seriously, I don't think of myself as different from any other American. My kids are pretty Hispanic looking too, but I don't fear for them at all, at least not in that way. I don't know any Hispanics who have ever expressed such a fear to me, maybe because the vast majority of the ones I know were either born here, or are otherwise here legally....

What backlash do they fear? Someone will stop them from waiving La Raza flags showing the Southwest as part of Mexico? Someone will criticize the Mexican consulate for assisting illegals in evading the law or intervening in Arizona internal laws? Illegal immigrant criminals will be deported?
You are a Great American. And I love my fellow Americans.
My problem is with non-Americans who are in my country illegally.
The media is framing the debate to be about race when it is really about citizenship. Are there no non-Hispanic Mexicans? Are there no non-Caucasian Canadians?

That sounds more like what someone would say who is trying to get some 'street cred' with the Latin Kings street gang.
I don't know if being an uncouth Ghetto Rat is grounds for impeachment, but it should be.
