Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski , running for re-election as a write-in candidate, said Wednesday during a debate that she would not support Sarah Palin (R) for president if the former Alaska governor and 2008 vice presidential nominee launched a White House bid in 2012, according to the Associated Press.
Murkowski and Palin have had a rocky relationship for many years. In 2006, Palin ousted Murkowskis father and then-Gov. Frank Murkowski in a GOP gubernatorial primary. Sen. Murkowski was appointed to the Senate by her father after he left Capitol Hill to serve as his states chief executive.
The animosity between Murkowski and Palin reignited this year after the former governor endorsed Fairbanks attorney Joe Miller over Murkowski in the Alaska Senate GOP primary. Miller prevailed, and appeared to be headed to an easy general election victory until Murkowski decided to enter the race as a write-in.
Recent polls show a tight race, with Murkowski narrowly leading and Miller and Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams (D) fighting for second place.
Now, THAT’S a surprise.
I’m sure Palin’s children won’t vote for Lisa, either.
Murfkyousky is dillusional.
she hasn’t figured out that some of her buddies are ALREADY gone. And more are on the way out the door.
What an idiot.
well duh!, senator obvious....double duh
“Recent polls show a tight race, with Murkowski narrowly leading and Miller and Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams (D) fighting for second place.”
None that I have seen, only lib push polls and not genuine ones.
Hey Lisa drop dead!
She wont need to because we are sending her boney miserable ass back to the wilderness on Tuesday hopefully never to be heard of again.
Meanwhile, in Wasilla, Sarah Palin breathes a collective sigh of relief. Trust me Lisa, NO ONE wants an endorsement from you
‘Murk’ isn’t going to win this race, Miller by 10pts!
Hell hath no fury like a women scorned .
This Mankowski person is really starting to piss me off!!
Addition by way of subtraction!
Different situation, an Alaskan will sit in that Senate seat, and mom’s kids may support mom’s choice for that seat, but Palin will be the first Alaskan President, so for a sitting Alaskan Senator to say that is a little different.
The question then becomes what, if anything, Murkowski can do to throw any impediments in Palin’s way? What dirt can she dish? I’m sure she’ll be feeding whatever she has to all of Palin’s opponents from either party.
Duh. No big surprise since Palin is campaigning against her ass in the Senate race.
Lisa who? Who gives a damn?
