You have to be kidding. This was a sure Republican seat until Sarah Palin started messing with it.
No, actually the survey was conducted from Oct. 20-26.
And you consider bipartisan opposition to a conservative agenda to be a good thing? We gain nothing by electing Republicans that will reach across the aisle to work with the Democrats to get the progressive agenda passed.
Well, I had wanted to have the numbers too, but many others wanted a new direction. But Palin's overall record of success in endorsements has been stellar.
Yes, I know, as I said, my error, with apologies.
Mr. K, the people of the DelMarVa Peninsula have been known since colonial times as .... well, um ... shall we say ... rather unusual. It is a poultry-raising area and over the years through some inbred genetic quirk or other, the people there have come to physically resemble fowl, but with fewer feathers. E.G., Joe Biden, Frank Purdue, et al.
Coons fits that physical profile, which may make the voters of the region feel comfortable with him. The fact that he is mentally confused may help, too. He's no threat.
A vibrant, healthy well set up woman like Ms. O'Donnell, with a full set of teeth and firm opinions, and all, may make the natives suspicious. As far as being a thorough-going Marxist, Coons is not frightening to Delawarians, because on their black and white TV's many of them are still watching Groucho on re-runs. Few, apparently, read and write on the same day.
Delaware. Biden's from there. I hope this brief answer has been of some help to you. I don't mean to criticize ... and there is some good pheasant shooting. If they elect Coons, we can drop the "H."

Ok... I challenge you to show me your proof that Mike Castle was ever a shoo-in to win this seat? (Sorry, but citing ridiculously premature polling data that was taken three months prior to the election won’t hold any water here.)
No need to count on polling data. We can just look at his record. He's been winning statewide races in Delaware for decades -- he's currently Delaware's sole US Representative, and had generally won those races with over 60% of the vote.
In 2008, he got 61.1% of the vote, in a state where Obama got 62% of the vote.
So, yes ... there's a very, very good chance he would have beaten Coons in the general election.
Even if she loses, she slew the RINO. That sends a message to the rest of the herd. Believe me, they are listening. Their political careers are at stake.
What a crock.
You probably think this couldn’t happen either...

Onward to November 2!
Not really sure what your point is, but Sean Bielat is a very impressive , solid candidate. He is a former Marine and went to Harvard. He has stated that he doesn’t want Sarah Palin campaigning with him in Massachusetts.
You're from Texas and I'm from the Chicago area...Chicago, talk about a hell hole for conservatives! And it appears that Rahm Emanuel has paid off most of the contenders for the office of Mayor of Chicago, from what I read and hear, and that Rahm will probably be the next Mayor of Chicago...but you never know! Obama in the White House and Rahm in the Chicago branch office.....
I've got it coming and going!
Nice slam against the conservative part of the state. I suppose you love the filth of New Castle County just fine, because they be more suffistuhkated than those conservative chicken farmers, eh?
Not at all. I never showed joy at the poll. I show sadness, actually. This is a huge loss, far greater than within that Senate seat itself.
Ask Christine O'Donnell. She's the one who ran a write-in campaign after coming in third in the GOP primary back in 2006 when she didn't like the GOP nominee.
Now it's suddenly a crime to offer a critique of the candidate?
Sounds more and more like DU here every day. More and more "it's okay to be dishonest as long as it supports someone spouting conservative mantras" and less "character counts"...what a shame.
There is more irony between your FR handle and support of Miss O'Donnell's passing of the buck than I can consider with a straight face.
good analysis!
Yes...I know that the Dems supported Christine O'Donnell, and some libs in NCC were even actively campaigning for her so they could bump off Mike Castle. They have continued to publicize her ever since, knowing that the more that came out about her, the better the shot they could get an upset and get a hard-line Leftist in there. :-(
