BEN EVANS

Associated Press

The survey released Thursday by Fairleigh Dickinson University-PublicMind shows Coons holding a commanding lead of 21 points, with 57 percent of likely voters saying they will vote for Coons compared to just 36 percent for O'Donnell.

Conservative icon (s) Sean Hannity is giving Rove even more air time so Tokyo can bash O’Donnell, Palin, and Angle some more right before the election. This election is really smoking them out...

Do dishonesty and misrepresentation rub off from a candidate to her supporters?!?

Who do you support in Delaware? Coons, Castle, - who Gondring?

She would`ve done fine in a conservative state like Idaho or Wyoming. But she`s in a socialist state... they`re apparently ok with having a marxist represent them. I`m just thankful to her for standing up and taking the media`s arrows, thereby allowing other Tea Party candidates to get their shaky campaigns in order.

Well she can still pick up younger guys while wearing a ladybug costume, I’ve got to hand that to her.

If Castle were a moderate or a conservative they might've been correct. But Castle is a LEFTIST who said he would NOT work to repeal Obamacare.

Castle's ACU rating in 2008 was 28%, in 2009 56%. And it went up because it was the year before election year. Castle voted FOR Cap and Trade and didn't know until 3 days prior to the vote on Obamacare, that he would vote against it.

If Christine loses a number of factors are causal, but certainly the refusal of many in the establishment to support her. There's a Congressional race in PA where a candidate is losing because of the same problem, but with people on the right. Frankly, I'm tired of poor sports in both groups. They both help to turn Conservative/Republican Victories into defeat.

Agreed, and even the college professor who announced these college poll results acknowleges that.

Cassino said O'Donnell, a tea party favorite who spent years as a conservative evangelical commentator on cable television, would probably win in other states that have more social conservatives and a larger tea party presence. "But there just aren't enough in Delaware," he said.

Agreed, 100%. Publicly we should virtually always be supporting the GOP nominee. Our fights need to be within the Republican primary. It is inexcusable that Castle refused to support O'Donnell. Castle proved himself to be every bit the RINO jacka** so many people believed he was. It is just as inexcusable that many, many people right here on Free Republic refuse to support GOP nominees who won their primaries like Kirk in Illinois. As much as we may not like the winner, our opportunity to get our favorite candidate nominated was in the primary. We actually have a lot of people here who are going to flush their vote down the crapper in Illinois by voting for a Libertarian (Labno) - a Libertarian the Democratic party is actually helping in hopes it splinters off enough conservative voters to get Giannoulias elected.

Saying that, discussing our nominees amongst ourselves is a very important conversation to have. We have clearly nominated some seriously terrible candidates like COD, Paladino, Maes, and now Miller is self destructing. We need to make certain to vet candidates before throwing our support behind them and also factor in very heavily which potential nominees CAN actually win. COD just wasn't a good choice and it is important that movement conservatives and grass roots activists learn something from this upcoming debacle.

It’s Delaware. Something many of us here pointed out for quite some time before the primary. Delaware is a far left State. Period. End of Story.

Prove it. Show me one.

“First, I’m in no way convinced he was ever a shoo-in to win as the Republican establishment would love to have us all believe.”

What part of Delaware are you in?!?!

*************************************************************

Um, what does your question have to do with anything? And what’s your point? That you think Castle was a shoo-in to defeat Coons? And, if so, show me your proof other than citing inherently unreliable and overly premature polling data taken three months prior to the election?

You mean like they told us Crist was the only one who could win in Florida? And since Pennsylvania has appeared to be trending more blue that Specter needed to be the candidate there?

We ain't gonna turn back the Progressive destruction of this country by electing Progressive Republicans. All they do is pull the Republican party leadership toward positions that destroy the brand of Republicans as being conservative.

Are people there really that stupid?

You're referring to a state that elected and re-elected Joe Biden for decades. We already know the answer to that question.

Let me fix it for you.

“How can they vote for a self-professed Marxist who in his own words has rejected Free Enterprise and the American system and who spent a year working for a marxist organization in Africa and who supports every part of the Obama Agenda, over a Reganite Constitutionalist who happened to date a guy with a ouija board when she was a teenager.”

This loss will hurt Sarah Palin’s chances at getting the GOP nomination.

I don't agree. Palin has taken risks by backing several of these new candidates. She'll still end up with many more successes than not. O'Donnell just happens to be one of those that didn't pan out so well.

Most other polls have O'Donnell ahead.

Which ones? The narrowest post-nomination gap I've seen for her was a Ras poll showing her behind by 9, and that was only with Castle as a theoretical write-in.

Uhhhhhh???? I was being positive. I was pointing out that Scott Brown was supposedly 15pts behind going into the election and HE WON!! I think she can pull this one off.

We shall see!
