Lets face it: Most Americans dont have much use for either of the major political parties and think it would be better to dump the entire Congress on Election Day.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 65% of Likely U.S. Voters say if they had the option next week, they would vote to get rid of the entire Congress and start all over again. Only 20% would opt to keep the entire Congress instead. Fifteen percent (15%) arent sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Of course, the Political Class strongly disagrees. While 84% of Mainstream voters would opt to get rid of the entire Congress, 64% of the Political Class would vote instead to keep them all.
Not surprisingly, 82% of Republicans and 78% of unaffiliateds say dump them all. Despite their partys control of both the House and Senate, Democratic voters are fairly evenly divided: 44% say its better to keep the entire Congress, but 38% would prefer to give all the national legislators the heave-ho.
Thirty-eight percent (38%) of all voters have a favorable opinion of the Democratic Party after its two years of controlling both the White House and Congress. But 53% view the Democrats unfavorably.
As for the party out of power but knocking on the door, just 29% view Republicans favorably, while 54% hold an unfavorable opinion of them.
Only 61% of Republicans offer a favorable opinion of the GOP, a figure perhaps reflective of the fact that most Republican voters believe their party leaders are out of touch with the base.
Seventy-six percent (76%) of Democrats have a favorable opinion of their party.
Among all voters, just three percent (3%) have a favorable opinion of both parties, while 18% view both unfavorably. Seventy-nine percent (79%) offer mixed reviews.

I expect we will see a spike in term limit and 10th amendment activism in 201l.
Count me in!
We’ll see the dismantling of major rat voting fraud, too.
Those numbers would indicate that present polling numbers for candidates are skewed. One would think that any incumbent is in more trouble then current polling numbers would indicate.
Agree, while most of the existing Republicans arent as scummy as any registered Democrat...they run a close second....we still have a lot of work to do.
I have already decided that my voting policy will start by scratching the incumbent’s name from the list, and making a conservative seletion from the remainder.
Even if a conservative holds the seat, they need to serve one term and go.
Adios, Senor Perry.
And yet - fully 2/3 of the new Congress will be comprised of incumbents, dutifully reelected by their constituencies...
Go figure.....
I would take that option in a heartbeat if I could. We in Oklahoma have some very good Senators and Representatives. But I would be willing to sacrifice them to get rid of the evil lurking elsewhere in Congress.
But our system is set up so we can keep good Congress critters and vote out the bad ones. However, districts have been gerrymandered and idiots naturally like to associate with their own kind so we have states and districts that cannot do anything but vote in crooks and idiots.
The first step is to abolish government schools so the state no longer has the opportunity to directly create more ignorant and deceived voters.
Boot Congress.
End the IRS.
Abolish the Federal Reserve.
Until this happens, Americans standard of living will continue to erode...plain and simple.
“I expect we will see a spike in term limit and 10th amendment activism in 201l.”
I couldn’t have said this better! We are only getting started on this.
I’m in !!!!!
Only Tea Party candidates qualified...the rest must go!!!
Drain the swamp...(along with Pelosi)
D. None of the Above
I am down with this. Cleave the decay off and go with recasting the country. No use fishing in a dead pool.
Sure is a lot of hope and change in this thread.
How about scrapping the entire FedGov back to bare Constitutional construction,
and starting over.
Term limits would accompish that. As conservative as my congressman is, there are others who can do the job as well.
Throw all the BUMS out.
