Jesus said that “even the pagans” love their own families......and we should extend this thought as if “Republicanism” and “Democratism” are families and stop acting like a Tony Soprano.......which is the sort of person Jesus was preaching against......
Tony Soprano loved himself and his family-—(sort of) but thought it was ok to ignore the secular law and screw over and even kill people not in his immediate family.....and his noral corruption actually even entered into his own family against even blood relatives and crime family.....
Americans are so Christianized that I believe many of us don’t realize we have already internalized much of what Jesus taught-—even though liberals always insist we really aren’t true Christians and aren’t loving enough....
I don’t read into the Bible what liberals do.......and it’s absurd to believe that the Bible teaches putting bums and drug addicts and immigrants BEFORE yourself or loved ones!!!
As selfish as a Tony Soprano is, it’s just as bad to sacrifice yourself to others and put other people—including strangers and those who can and should help themselves-—first....
The author offers an excellent and well worded theory, but in the end one must say that even children recognize the taste, odor, consistency, and look, of fecal material, and are smart enough to leave it alone. Only the left celebrates the opposite.
Because their Leftist ideology prevents them from seeing the objective, external universe for what it is, they are clinically insane. Only an intervention or a severe psychological trauma can shake them awake from their delusions: like the mugging that Obama thugs perpetrated on Hillary supporters. They woke up with a loathing for Communism. Good.

My six years as a Berkeley resident was an education in itself. I felt as if I was living in a city-wide mental institution, where the smug and self-worshipping thrive, totally oblivious to the outside world which continues to give them the luxury of living their lives in such a deluded state.
The icing on the cake was their insufferable condescension toward anyone not toeing the far left party line du jour, and the frequent protests against anything having to do with capitalism or our military. Both of which are the very foundations of a free society that allows such insular enclaves of leftist thought to exist in the first place.
Of course, the irony of this was totally lost upon them.
Yes, it is worth the read. Of course, Haith’s analysis quoted in the middle of the piecce is severely flawed. If “Liberals” really based their morality on “Harm/Care” the fact that leftist ideas inevitably lead to harm would give them pause. And, depending on what one means by “Fairness/Reciprocity”, one can argue that capitalist ideas are based on a notion of reciprocity and fairness, while the leveling impulse, while it embodies a notion of fairness absolutely denies reciprocity in human interaction.
Personally I think leftism is caused by a severe failure to understand economics—if economics were a zero-sum game and static rather than dynamic (the two errors leftists most commonly make) their ideas might arguably have some merit. Either that or, if new research holds up, it’s a result of defective dopamine receptors.
Entirely made up by the author. Nobody, not even dumb ass liberals ever thought that wall was to keep west Germans from going to the east. It wasn't west German guards shooting people for trying to cross into the east.
It's like saying that we need a wall/fence on our southern border to keep U.S. citizens from illegally crossing into Mexico.
If the author wants artistic license to dramatize a bit, I'm OK with that but make it a little bit believable please.
I think the issue is rather simple...
Liberals have a problem facing the truth when it results in self examination leading to conviction.
Anyone who CHOOSES to deny a truth to protect their own feelings and/or judgment of self on a consistent basis will eventually become a full fledged liberal.
I think God said it best when He told us that “The Truth will set you free.”... and yes... I know to Whom He was referring.
The author lists several causes, but I believe the “psychological” accounts for 99% of it.
Most people have this deep seeded GUILT that results from knowledge of sin,
and seek to affirm their denial of that guilt and affirm their “good person” status.

(though Sowell would have then repeated the ideas condensed in those 3 paragraphs 20 times in order to fill out the pages of a new book)
