[snip]Once they 'vanish', guard our freedom. It must be protected and every elitist that pops up claiming he knows 'better' put in his place. We can ill afford anymore of their kind. Jeeesh, the American people should have learned our lessons from Jimmah Cartier, Billy Clinton and Hussein. BTW, our current chief executive's running for the ultimate job; Emperor Imam Hussein, dictator of the World. Unless we win both houses and a super majority; Hussein just might win!
Israeli lawmaker calls for arrest of US war criminals
Tuesday, October 26, 2010 | Ryan Jones |
An Israeli Knesset member on Monday sought to turn the tables on the US (and the wider Western world) by calling for an international investigation into American military activities in Iraq and the arrest of American war criminals.
TOPICS: Breaking News; Foreign Affairs; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: bogus; defeatist; israel; military
In a letter to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, lawmaker Michael Ben-Ari of the National Union Party insisted that the US military documents recently leaked by the website WikiLeaks were grounds for an official probe. Among other things, the documents appeared to reveal that an average of 31 Iraqi civilians have been killed every day since American forces invaded in 2003, and that on numerous occasions American soldiers have tortured, raped and otherwise abused Iraqi nationals.
In remarks echoing the rhetoric of the international community in the aftermath of Israels most recent war on Gaza terror, Ben-Ari wrote:
The latest revelation of US military documents regarding the war in Iraq detailing torture, summary executions, rape, and war crimes by US and US-lead security forces in Iraq, paint a terrifying portrait of US abuse and contempt of international treaties.
Ben-Ari wryly suggested that the UN appoint Judge Richard Goldstone to head up the investigative committee. Goldstone headed the UN investigation into Israels Operation Cast Lead against Gazas Hamas rulers. His findings, based largely on unsubstantiated Palestinian claims, were that Israel had committed widespread war crimes.
Ben-Ari noted that if Goldstone is unavailable, there are human rights organizations here in Israel that are experts in the investigation and judicious prosecution of war crimes. [I have] no doubt that they too will be ready and eager to be at the United Nations service.
The MK closed his letter by stating that he is looking forward to your call for an urgent hearing at the UN regarding these latest abuses as well as the insidious attempt by the US government to sweep these crimes under the carpet.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to comment on the stunt, but a source close the Israeli leader told The Jerusalem Post that Ben-Aris action was crazy and potentially damaging to fragile US-Israel relations.

He’s with the National Union Party, which is Avigdor Lieberman’s affiliation. This is apparently an attempt at satire. If Bon-Ami got out more, he’d see that crackpots in Europe try this thing all the time but they are serious.

This is an elaborate bit of sarcasm by the MK. But I think he should skip it.

I agree. Unfortunately the western world become so overwhelmed with Marxism (under married name “political correctness”) that even an outright satire gets taken at the face value and as a manifesto.

No. Leiberman is with Yisrael Beitenu, Israel Our Home. Yisrael Beitenu supports the premise of the Peace Process. It is a Russian-dominated right-wing growth of the Likud. It is kind of like Kadmina being the liberal Likudniks who broak off. (Likud and it's two splinters have an absolute majority in Parlikament, but Kadima is in opposition.) National Union, "Ha Yichud Leumi" is a mixture of secular and religious nationalists. They believe in expelling the Arabs from the West Bank and Gaza.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to comment on the stunt, but a source close the Israeli leader told The Jerusalem Post that Ben-Aris action was crazy and potentially damaging to fragile US-Israel relations. If that is true, then Ben-Ari should be censured in some way. Imagine if a US Senator in the ruling party sent a letter to the UN chief accusing Israel of war crimes a with a list of alleged damning facts and demanding official investigation. It would be a very big deal. This is a direct attack upon the US military, not Obama.

I can see the wry satire intended, but this is a foolish stunt on the MK’s part, not helpful either to Israel or the US or US-Israeli relations, and he really should leave nonsense like this to the handful of treacherous Arab MKs, such as Ahmed Tibi. (MK = Member of Knesset.)

We will give these so called criminals under two conditions:
1. We will cut off all financail and military aid.
2. You will concede all land and territory demand by the “Palestinians” with out any condition.

It may be intended as a slap in the face to 0bama, but it comes across as a slap in the face to the United States in general, and to the US military in particular.
I'm not laughing.
