A jaguar that escaped from its cage at a Belize animal rescue center during Hurricane Richard has been blamed in the mauling death of a U.S. citizen whose body was found on Tuesday.
The 4-year-old male jaguar named Max escaped when a tree fell on his cage on Sunday, the same day the Category 1 hurricane hit the country's Caribbean coast with howling winds and rain.
Authorities found the victim's body near the animal center on Tuesday. It had bite marks on the forearm and neck, and the man had apparently been attacked the day before and dragged for some distance into the bushes.

Jaguar roam wild in Belize, not so sensational.
Bad Kitty! ping
Yea but this one was pissed off for being penned up.
Not high on the list on the ways I wish to die.
Other than Ambergris Caye, Belize is one of the most primitive outposts in Central America. It gets high points because it is English speaking and uses US currency. But, it is truly only for the rough at heart.
But how is the surfing?
“Oooooh There’s a big kitty kat. C’mere kitty... that’s a good boy. I bet you’re glad to be out of that cage and in the wild again....”
I don’t know, but it’s a very popular destination for divers.
In the parts I visited (mostly along the Chetumal Bay), the surfing was not good. Unfortunately, much of the best surfing in Central America is in Nicaragua. Yet another reason to get rid of Obama’s buddy Ortega. He is killing that poor country that once had such great potential.
VERY Bad Kitty!
Maybe he just want some of that other white meat.
Dragged the body for quite some distance, but abandoned it after one bite. Culinary dilettante!
Ah, you know foodies.
My four little picky eaters. So much of house cats translates into the big, wild ones.
One big, bad kitty indeed. =^..^=
Where is Algore when you need him. I guess he is with Charlie Sheen!
See?
