The OReily, and Juan comments on Muslims, as well as the Bush administration instance that we are not at war with Islam, or the Muslims we are at war against "terror"? All that made me think that we should be at war against ISLAM, the religion itself, and not against the Muslims. Islam is the dogma of xenophobia and hate. That kind of religion as it stands and it is preached is not suitable to civilized societies. Muslims on the other hand do not follow the majority of the hate preached by the religious leaders, and some don't even hate people who are not Muslims. Only good Muslims follow that hate, so may be we should refraise our war against good Muslims?
Therefore, to correct Woopie, and W Bush; we are at war with a barbaric dogma called Islam, that in dire need for reformation. Having said so, I am very ready to accept Islam, and Muslims if the violent hate was controlled in their preaching, and peaceful coexistence became its common theme.
You are here since Sept 2010...and post this absurd , juvenile vanity?
Trying to rile up the Viking Kitties?

This missive might have been worth discussion if the author had expanded on his/her argument just a little bit.

I disagree with the premise of your post but do believe that would should seek military bacon/pork proliferation in Afghanistan.
I think this must be a zottable .... what a dweeb
Oddly enough, it is not all of Islam, just three important parts of it. It we could clearly state that we are at war with them, and beat those three parts into order, most of the rest of Islam would be, if not friendly, than not totally bellicose.
To start with, the Wahabbi sect of Islam (started in the 18th Century). These guys were making trouble even back in the days of Rudyard Kipling. They are completely bellicose, but they survive for a strange reason: they operate a huge number of madrassas in Pakistan. As such, they produce the vast majority of clergy used by Sunni Muslims. So otherwise temperate mosques have little choice. If they want someone trained as clergy, they have to take a Wahabbi, knowing full well that he will try to radicalize them and their children.
Wahabbis (Salafists) are also the dominant sect in Saudi Arabia, and divide control of the country with the Saud royals. This means they also control the Hajj, and Mecca, so all Muslims have to do what they say to some extent, or they won’t let them go on Hajj. (They also control the al-Asqa mosque in Jerusalem, and use it as a launching point for riots.)
From their point of view, they wish Islam to be like it was in its first three generations, and they reject knowledge or interpretations that came subsequently to those times. They are also very austere, and reject art, music, dance, and most learning outside of the Koran and its commentaries.
The second problematic group in Islam is the Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoots. While not as obsessively nostalgic as the Wahabbi, they are what could be called “Muslim imperialists”, who want to recreate a Caliphate to dominate the world. They are so large, international, and connected in many countries that the US has refused to declare them a terrorist organization, though they have produced many spin-off or splinter terrorist organizations.
These are people that want to rule nations. And they want to start by ruling Egypt, though the Egyptian government has other ideas, and has outlawed them. They have tried to overthrow the government several times.
Though from our point of view, they have not emerged in full force with terrorism, eventually they might, so need to be stopped soon.
And the third problem is Iran and the pan-Shiite movement sponsored by Iran. Between Iran and Pakistan is 90% of the world’s Islamic terrorism. This problem will only be dampened when the Iranian theocracy ends, and is replaced with a responsible form of government.
But if the US would take on these three problems in a systematic manner, the vast majority of the rest of Islam would stop being a menace in the world.
Talk to, or research the Copts in Egypt.. and the Hindus in India..
Worldwide Islam has been a pariah.. a political disease..
Has been, is now, and will remain the same..
Great points. I agree. I know enough about the subject, but was not sure if the majority here are well informed. It is certainly a good thing to learn that lots of people have educated themselves about that very important subject.
Dude, why do you think so?
Good, concise post. Thanks.
Only Jesus Christ the King is going to be able to reform Islam. Man alone can’t do it or it would have been done by now.
Saudi Arabia is a political marriage of the Saud Royal Family and the Wahab clan. These two provide the funding and impetus of Wahhabiism. This is who we should be at war with. But since the Saudis are in bed with political leaders from both parties, as well as the oil companies, this does not happen. What are a few thousand murdered Americans when there is so much money to be made?
I’ll gladly accept all muslims that repent of their satanic cult and accept Jesus as their Savior.
I agree.
