Dear xxxxxx,
Late Wednesday evening we gave Juan Williams notice that weve terminated his contract as a Senior News Analyst for NPR News. We didnt make this decision lightly or without regret. Juan has been a valuable contributor to NPR and public radio for many years.
However, his remarks on The OReilly Factor this past Monday violated our ethics guidelines. Unfortunately, this has occurred several times in other media. Our decision to end our contractual relationship with Juan has come after repeated conversations and warnings about some of his public comments. This was a difficult, but principled decision.
Weve been contacted by listeners who have passionately agreed with our decision, as well as those who have disagreed with it, with equal conviction. We hear you both and respect your perspectives. At the same time, we believe that the public is better served by NPR holding firm to the values and standards that have guided us for many years.
As some listeners have also asked for more details about our funding, you can find a detailed overview of our funding on our website in our About section: http://www.npr.org/about/aboutnpr/ Of note, and as is explained in that site, NPR, Inc. has received no direct operating support from the federal government since 1983.
I recognize that this decision has sparked a strong debate in the blogosphere and elsewhere, and that you have a firm position on the matter. While we stand by our policy, we also regret that we were compelled to take the actions that we did.
Sincerely
Dana Davis Rehm
Senior Vice President, Marketing, Communications, and External Relations
CAIR.
That’s one giant release of flatus translated to electronic communications...
By the same standards, Nina Tottenburg should have been fired many times over.
No more tax dollars to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
With other media? What do YOUR ethics guidelines have to do with OTHER media who he works with? Juan needs to sue these bastards.
I believe GM is one of their big supporters
I got one too, after sending them a nasty e-mail about what a loyal listener and dedicated liberal I was who’d never listen to NPR again!
And her name will be the subject of my response.
The tone of arrogance is astounding. While saying they have received letters on both sides of the issue may be true I/we know the overwhelming majority have been critical of their bone-headed decision.
I also got the same reply..they must have done a mass mailing of that message!!
I sent three email over the past week and I received three emails all the same!
I believe for NPR to heal they will have to select a new PRESIDENT/CEO, as for my self I will never again support them...
Of note, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting the shell company that receives the money has a revenue stream of $2.85 BILLION. 40% of that or $1.1 BILLION is TAX revenue.
Much of that went to PBS-TV side of the house but about $25% went to the public radio system. The DIRECT funding is insignificant but the INDIRECT amount isn't. Stop laundering your funds, you're making ENRON look good. And yes I have backup

Notice that the people who agreed PASSIONATELY AGREED while those who disagreed were not so PASSIONATE.
No slant to this article is there?????????????????????????
Apparently their “principles” also involve publicly calling into question the sanity of someone they wrongfully terminated. The NPR CEO is as unprofessional as it gets & she should be terminated, but that won’t happen because their “principles” are trash.
And Juan was the only African American working there. Looks like racial discrimination doesn’t it.
We The People have to ensure that none of us donate to NPR since they claim most of their donations come from the public. Let’s see how many rabid RATs want to pay NPR’s way. They can go suck more out of Soros and CAIR.
As in Animal House, doing Belushi -> cough, cough - bull$h!t !!!!!!
Let them live off Soros without our money.
They have no business getting any taxpayers money.
They claim they are “non-commercial” yet they have commercials on there all the time, cleverly disguised as “Thank-You” Announcements.
Their Obvious bias and agenda-driven politics always show through.
let those who watch it, support it. NO MORE TAXPAYER FUNDING!
