It would be nice to have an MP 3 player with AM and FM reception too. That way you could record say Rush, play it later without the computer.
I can do that now with my iPod touch and the radiotime app
I have seen them with FM but not AM...yet.
The way it was explained to me years ago was that the AM receptor is twice more massive that it will defeat the purpose of the mp3 player being so small u could fit it into your jeans pocket.
I still have my 4 GB Sandisk player I bought in 06’ and use it on occasions because I get lazy changing songs on the weekends once I tire of the songs on my Ipod.
--in some places Rush is on FM talk. Example: Rush Radio 99.5, New Orleans. Or an AM station simulcasts on FM (translator)
--Alternative method of recording:
get a portable radio with a headphone (1/8") jack and set it to station running Rush. Example: Rush Radio 1200 Boston...buy a mini-FM transmitter (Maxell, about $25 or so) and plug into radio. Choose an FM frequency. Then set your mp3 player which has an FM radio (RCA Opal, Sansa Fuze etc.) and set it that frequency, and record. The mini FM transmitter is what some people use to broadcast an mp3 player in their car though some newer cars have mp3 player jacks.

It exists and is called an I Phone.
The I phone incorporates an Ipod for MP3 and internet capability. To get Rush, you down load the App for your local station or WLS Chicago
It also serves up Free Republic, albeit it is hard to read.
