Judge orders Miller documents released (Murkowski Judicial Appointee)

~ EXCERPT ~

FAIRBANKS -- A judge ruled today that the Fairbanks North Star Borough must release personnel records of Senate candidate Joe Miller.

In an unusual Saturday hearing, retired Superior Court Judge Winston Burbank ruled that the public's right to know about candidates outweighed Miller's right to privacy.

Burbank ordered no release until at least Tuesday, however, to allow Miller to appeal the decision to the Alaska Supreme Court. Some of the documents will be redacted, he said.

The case was brought by a group of Alaska news media organizations, who have been trying since summer to see borough documents concerning Miller's employment as a part-time borough attorney.

Miller, the Republican nominee, fought the release, arguing that any release of personnel records violated his privacy rights

Among the documents being sought are details of his resignation from the job last year, and any disciplinary actions taken against him while employed. Separate lawsuits were brought by the Alaska Dispatch and Fairbanks Daily News-Miner. The Daily News and Associated Press joined, and the suits were combined. Among the arguments for release was that the state Supreme Court, in earlier cases, has ruled that candidates for office expose their private lives to public scrutiny.

Personnel records are privileged; this is a crock!

Also, are we exposing employers to a new risk of litigation?

I know all the illegal wheeling and dealing goes on all the time but I don’t even try to keep up with it unless it’s a biggie. People are so corrupt now that it’s almost hopeless.

screw these scumbags — we weren’t allowed to know anything about OBOZO, but for R. candidates judges are happy to pry out anything and everything for the ‘Ratscum media

where was the cherished “public’s right to know” regarding every document and episode in Obozo’s secret past?

Obama won his senate seat by getting a judge to release the divorce records of his opponent . . .

You're referring to the Jack Ryan debacle here in Illinois, right? It worked so well here, no reason not to pull that rabbit out of the hat again.

Because he’s as crooked as a dogs hind leg! The release of these files will be aq major harm to the litigation process companies will have to endure now ... you have no expectation of ANYTHING being private! ... Unless you’re the commie bastard in the ovoid orifice.

Equally chilling to me is that this woman is not even given a reprimand by her party!! They even refused to vote for her to lose her committee seats.

If folks don’t understand socialism is the affront, who cares. Anyone who pulls the lever for a Democrat is a socialist, period.

The Murkowski stink on this is so bad that the sitting judges did not want to have any part of it.
Burbank was brought in as a ringer to take any hits because his career is over with and just about untouchable.

They kept her in place so she could shake down the lobbyists to fight Miller . I would not be surprised if the GOP is in on this .

I surmise from Miller’s lawyer that to appeal this ruling would probably be worse than letting the records go. I didn’t get the sense from the article that the Miller campaign was too concerned about it, as unfair as it may seem.

It's a no win situation. Unless the records are seriously bad, continuing to appeal the release might look worse.

I am going to be highly pissed if this idiot McAdams manages to somehow win because of infighting within the Republican Party. The thought of having 2 Democrat Senators from a deep red state like Alaska is pretty awful.

Lisa is acting like a real dirtbag here, but Miller certainly doesn't seem to have turned out to be a particularly strong candidate. We really need more party discipline and to make 100% certain that these newcomer, untested candidates are fully vetted BEFORE they are nominated.

“I hope the GOPer goobers are paying attention and taking notes. This is how you “win” elections. Accuse your opponent of something. Anything!”

It only works because the media and Democrats are one and the same. If a Republican accuses a Democrat they either ignore it or the press refutes it. The deck is dirty against the GOP.

Wish the holders of obama’s records thought the same way about records as you do. You should lodge a complaint with
some old retired judge some Saturday afternoon about Obama’s
records. If I were a voter in Alaska and in light of all that
has happened thus far in this election, I would not give a damn if Miller was caught streaking cross country, I would still vote for him...

LAWFARE....Excellent description!

I hate these happenings but we all must remember to EXPECT these happenings...they said they would be fighting..and that with the gloves off.

Further all the monies...millions and millions soaring thru these elections is not just for advertising etc...there's payoffs and crooked deals going down all over the place. We knew this would be and that politics is no different than the thugs on the streets. The thugs we prosecute...those who get away with their crimes the American people have sent to Washington, which is why we have things as they are.

We have to quit seeing them as Politicians....they are crooks, thieves and hitmen and the sooner we accept this unfortunate status quo and anticipate their moves as crooks..the better we can understand and see their next moves.

You again?

The dude that pops up whenever Tea Party Supported candidates get grilled (to an extent no other candidate gets grilled), and you support the grilling?

“Mr. Compromise”?

Mr. “We’re not going to do as well as we hope”?

Mr. “I’m going to make a stink about _anything_ I don’t like about my side” - when a conservative is the subject matter only?!?

You again?

Stiff arm the dope . There is no time for him or it . This is about Miller . Miller has to respond fast . this judge needs turn over his phone and email activity to see his connection with the hags campaign . I would agree to turn over my personal info as soon as he does . This is beginning to look lie a conspiracy to derail a federal election .

And speaking of a serious conflict of interest, this judge should have never been involved in this case and should step down and dismiss his order. Seems like a case of “help me daddy”on the part of Ms Murkowksi..
