Italian women face 500 euro fine for wearing miniskirts (in town of Castellammare di Stabia)
The Telegraph (U.K.) ^ | October 21, 2010 | Nick Squires

Women who wear miniskirts or show too much cleavage will face fines of up to 500 euros (£440) under new rules to be introduced by an Italian town.

In a move sharply at odds with a country which produced the likes of Monica Bellucci and Sophia Loren, the town of Castellammare di Stabia, near Naples, intends to prohibit women from wearing provocative clothing.

The town's council also wants to ban men and women from wearing low-slung jeans as part of a list of 41 new rules that "every good citizen must respect".

The centre-Right mayor, Luigi Bobbio, said it was all part of an effort to "restore urban decorum and improve coexistence" by targeting people who were "rowdy, unruly or simply badly behaved".

Playing football in parks and gardens and swearing in public will also be banned under new regulations which will be put forward for approval at a council meeting on Monday.

If the new regulations are approved, offenders will face fines of between 25 and 500 euros.

A local parish priest, Don Paolo Cecere, said he supported the crackdown.

"It's the right decision. In this way we can fight the spread of sexual molestation," he told a local newspaper, the Cronache di Napoli.

That countries bith rate is already at rock bottom do they really want to push it lower?

Actually, what might actually cause Italian men to increase the birth rate is to make the transition from ogling women in miniskirts to, ya now, actually proposing, getting married, and having a family.

The pics on this thread are a prime example of the problem. A false machismo hiding what is actually a fundamental psychological impotence.

I am sick about what has happened to the Italian family. And I think stuff like this is part of the problem.

Take issue with the photos if you like, but this has little if anything to do with what has happened to the family in Italy.

The problem is the phenomenon of the "mammone" - the "mama's boy" - men who live with their mothers well into their 30s and sometimes 40s. Often this is because 1) Italy is an expensive country to live in and more importantly 2) the mothers often insist on it.

That whole realm of Italian culture is ridiculous... some of the folks who are more faithful Catholics break away from it... but on the whole, it's this kind of stupidity that is the problem.

For the ladies!! We deserve some equal time!!

Just a warning, don't try to search for hot Italian men without putting in -"gay".

In other news, the Castellammare di Stabia town council tries to deal with the problem of the lack of men remaining in town.

The low ride jeans that show muffin top, tramp stamps and thong underwear/backside cleavage are disgusting. However it is hard to find a pair of jeans or ladies’ slacks that fit properly these days almost all are labeled “sits below natural waist”.
I have to order jigher waited clothes from LL Bean, Orvis, and other catalogs that cater to the traditional clothing market.

They need a slogan. My suggestion: “Castellammare di Stabia: Where every day is a joyless gray hell.”

Oh, I’m not sure the photos have *little* to do with the family. It’s all related. Mammoni are a symptom of the same problem—a reluctance to grow up. And the perpetual, near permanent “studenti”. And the billboards, and the late-night TV there. It all spells immaturity to me.

I wouldn’t say Italian culture is ridiculous—but maybe it’s because my parents left there before it started to really degenerate.

All Western societies need to dramatically increase their birth rates in order to provide a cultural bulwark against the cancerous spread of Islam, among other reasons.  That being said, muslim 'societies', which insist upon their women wearing the equivalent of giant Hefty bags and having them walk around looking like Darth Vader and scaring non-islamic children, are breeding like rabbits.  The advent of the 'sex without consequences' amorality of the West seemed to occur at approximately the same periods in history as our sharply declining birthrates as well as being coupled time-wise with one of the greatest inventions of the entire twentieth century, the miniskirt,   I am tempted to suggest that declining birthrates be addressed by cultural incentives, including Western Govnments developing an interest in encouraging larger families, rather than linking Western ladies' fashion to the mix, at least at this point.  There is so much that Governments can do in the way of tax incentives for families, reforming divorce laws, protecting the unborn, etc. which I feel would have a significant healthy effect upon Western families as well as Western culture as a whole.
