In what is being described as the largest release of secret U.S. military documents ever, the whistle-blowing web site WikiLeaks has released a trove of classified reports about the war in Iraq, including a secret U.S. government tally that puts the Iraqi death toll between 109,000 and 285,000, according to news sources that received advanced copies of the documents.

I totally agree with you. People are losing homes, jobs, quality of life, health care, and no doubt relationships. It will be all about the economy in this election.
Those who gave info, try them as traitors and hang them on cspan.
I read this and say: So what?
Soldiers, terrorists, collateral damage, sympathizers, Saddam troops?
This is really no information.
And it was war in a war torn country.
I dont really think that we should be there. Neither do I think we should be in Afganistan.
But war leaves casualties.

Anybody notice this goob’s picture on Drudge looks like jackwagon Bill Maher?
Wikileaks is "down for maintenance", and has been for some time.
Al Jazeera has to have had these documents for weeks to read through them (400,000 documents) and summarize them.
That means Al Jazeera got them before they will be published to Wikileaks, as the western press is probably on Wikileaks every day to see if the dump happened.
This was planned. Julian Assange wanted to shape and control the story before the document dump. We have already see the number of dead drop from 285,000 to 100,000 over the course of couple of hours.
What is important is this means Assange transferred the documents from himself to Al Jazeera without publishing them to Wikileaks. Wikileaks is Assange's legal fig leaf. They claim they are "the press", and are therefore protected in the U.S. by the Pentagon Papers case. But what happened here is someone knowingly transferred knowingly stolen, knowingly classified U.S. Government documents to a foreign press. I don't see how a courier gets press protection.
He has been accused of rape and molestation in Sweden...he just tries to claim the charges are a frame up.
AND ... It is a war ... bad stuff happens!
If WWII had been conducted by today’s goofy PC standards - the U.S. East coast would be speaking German and the U.S. West Coast would be speaking Japanese...
That’s 100,000 we won’t have to kill next time......
It’s a war. A long war. People die. Frankly, given the amount of violence involved and the fact that we aren’t fighting a uniformed standing army, 100,000 isn’t all that many.
War is hell
Someone needs to be tried for treason.
Don't you see? Since Obama was elected, half a million Iraqis have been raised from the dead!
Bingo. Holder/Obama want it leaked. Too bad for them they did not think through the timing. This is an administration out of it's pay grade for sure.
“If this were truly a national security issue, why didnt the Pentagon just shut down WikiLeaks?”
If this were America the way it used to be, and the way it SHOULD be, the person or persons responsible for “WikiLeaks” would find themselves dead in very short order.
What they are doing is as much an act of war against our soldiers and allies as if they came at us with guns-a-blazing.
Whatever Americans -military personnel or civilians- that gave this info to the the WikiLeaks people should be tried for treason, and upon conviction should be hanged.
This is not a friggin game.
Exactly. If we had leadership with a backbone, we would have gone after this guy and “made him disappear”. No talk, no “need to know”.
Where is Mitch Rapp when we need him?
You guys seem to be assuming that this leak wasn’t deliberately done by those in charge of the executive. At this stage I would say that is a premature assumption.
Myth of Homosexuality, urban legend
This guy and all of wiki leaks should be bombed by a flaming napalm bomb straight to hell. Me thinks Obama is in on this whole con
