Fox News moved swiftly to turn the controversy over Juan Williamss firing to its advantage, offering him an expanded role and a new three-year contract Thursday morning in a deal that amounts to nearly $2 million, Matea Gold reports.
Roger Ailes took a jab at NPR in the process.
"Juan has been a staunch defender of liberal viewpoints since his tenure began at Fox News in 1997, he said in a statement. Hes an honest man whose freedom of speech is protected by Fox News on a daily basis.
In his new role, Williams will appear more frequently on the network and have a regular column on FoxNews.com.

Juan should sue NPR and if he prevails, donate all of the dough to scholarly poor black students who want to go to St. Albans and Sidwell Friends.
LOL!!
Amen
Idiot.....
Fox is fair and balanced, not radcon
he is liberal and I rarely, maybe never agree with him but he is never ugly like Bob Beckel.
and pay attention
in the past when he sat in for BOR he was pretty centrist.I was always surprised at how evenhnded he was when he subbed for BOR
He got screwed by NPR and most leftists know it.
Juan’s salary just went up and NPR’s credibility just went down.
And isn’t it wonderful that you never, ever, ever have to watch Juan on Fox News!!
That sounds like a fair trade to me. :=)
You said it best! Good for Fox and Juan.
So who cares? Serves him right. He’s one of the first guys to attack someone else when the stray away from PC mainstream approved thought. He did so himself and got kicked in the ass for it by the libs...great.
I KNEW it!
” CPB, not just NPR needs to go. NPR is sustained by local public stations, which get money from the CPB. So NPRs claim that only a small portion of their funding comes from the government is disingenuous. This LINK is to the OPB Budget Request to Congress.
They are asking for $630 million dollars in 2012. “
CPB = Corporation for Public Broadcasting is tantamount to
” Big Brother & the Holding Company “
Defund CPB!!
You nailed it, Jack!
Idiot? Go wave your FNS pom poms and come back to talk with an adult like me when you outgrow your cheerleqader skirt.
HA! Now THAT's funny. And true!
I’m glad Roger Ailes stepped up and gave it to NPR. But did you hear Juan last night on Hannity about affordable rent in N.Y. city? His position on controlling private investor’s who own buildings was nothing short of socialism. Even Hannity said flat out “Juan you are advocating socialism” and Williams said “N.Y. is a socialist city.” Juan supports socialism where he feels it’s appropriate.
Who are they going to bump to give him his own show ?
If a tree falls in the woods...
That's what I was thinking. In all likelihood, all three of their viewers will be furious.
Secret numbers published only for overseas callers to these NPR call-in shows (be prepared to explain which overseas location you are calling from, and that you listen via internet or sattellite, and that your phone number has an American area code because it is a VOIP - e.g. vonage or skype or magicjack - number which lots of overseas people use to reduce phone bills):
Diane Rehm Show 202-537-7872, Weekdays 10-11am ET
On Point, 617-353-0645, Weekdays 1-2pm ET
Talk of the Nation, 202-513-3305, Weekdays 2-4pm ET
this will also infuriate Soros who just gave NPR $1.8 million to get rid of FOX - talk about BOOMarang!
Now we get to have Juan on FOX more - Great!
ahahahs. Soros. Hoisted by his own pitard.
“Williams will appear more frequently on the network “
I dropped cable, so there is no downside !
I’m only happy with this if the increased time with Juan DECREASES the Bob Beckel/Alan Colmes time proportionately
