The University of Virginia has asked the Albemarle County Circuit Court to set aside a new petition from Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli seeking documents related to climate-change research by former U.Va. professor Michael Mann.
The court in August had denied a similar request from Cuccinelli, who claims Mann work on climate change constituted a fraud because it was based on dubious research. Cuccinelli, who disputes the theory that humans are causing global warming, rewrote his request to overcome the previous objections raised by the court.
Cuccinelli is making the demands under the states Fraud Against Taxpayers Act on the grounds that Mann, now at Penn State University, knowingly used flawed research to acquire a state research grant.
Lawyers for U.Va. said in their court filings that Cuccinellis latest demand constitutes an unprecedented and improper governmental intrusion into ongoing scientific research.

Maybe a state financed school should fess up to those who pay the bill.
Frankly, the administration best get kicking and turn over the stuff or prepare to be fired.
The public has a right to know what the university does with tax dollars it receives ~ and people there who don't agree with that NEED TO LEAVE NOW.
First, I thought the science on global warming was settled, and the debate over.
Second, any research which advocates of global warming want to use to justify sweeping legislation that will increase the cost of every good and service offered in the US, as well as expenses in the home, that research should be 100% available for review by any and all who wish to take the time to review it.
Sounds good.
Mann must be the first university professor/researcher to not want to reveal his research....
Refusing to release his research is more proof that Global Warming is a Hoax...and so good for Cuccinelli to go after Mann to expose this fraud
