Opportunism fuels the politics of “gay suicide”
Australian Conservative ^ | October 21, 2010 | Ben-Peter Terpstra

Half the world has been told that Rutgers student Tyler Clementi committed suicide – because he was “gay.” And, according to reports, society is to blame. Even before the private funeral, activists were issuing “gay suicide” template sermons. For some, it was an opportunity.

Like the ‘RATS say, “Never let a good crisis (OR SUICIDE) go to waste.” Exploit everything! It’s the communist way!

Wait a minute. Why would a gay person (proud to be gay) kill themselves because the community discovered that they were gay? Why should that same person be ashamed to the point of suicide? Something does not fit here. Be gay, be proud BUT...if that person is ashamed to be gay then MAYBE there is something fundamentally “unatural” to being gay?? Hmmm? I am not PC and I think the agenda being pushed to claim that it is every bit as natural (read: a person’s right)as heterosexuality, is a sham and they (the gay community) know it, that’s why they make an issue out of stories like this one.

This trend has to be browning off a lot of families seeing their loved ones hijacked for a vicious cause.

In the cases of gays committing suicide, it’s a lot easier for the gay community to BLAME the so-called, “straight” (their term, not mine) community for some kind of inherent injustice in the greater, heterosexual community. Always playing the victim will get you sympathy, but when that card (like the race card) is used constantly whether relevant or not, eventually it becomes stale and less and less people buy into it.

Right. These socialists are all for money making when it comes to suicide. Their lack of respect for the dead is unbelievable.

Impressive reply from "Nemesis" below the article, here repeated in full.
During my job as cop I saw the results of many suicides, both sexes, all ages from 19 up. That was my youngest suicide. Most had left notes of some description outlining the reason or reasons for taking their life, some didn’t, and those were the most difficult to understand, especially for surviving family members.

It’s a very sobering moment when you come upon someone who has taken their life as you are probably the first person to see the results of their deed. It almost feels like an intrusion into someones private world, a world that the suicider found intolerable in the end, and for reasons apart from those recorded and best known to the themselves, decided they could no longer be a part of it.

Not one of the many suicides that I had the displeasure of investigating mentioned their sexual preference or harassment because of it, as the prime motivator for taking their life. I found that most suicides had a long history of mental health issues which medical practitioners could not seem to control. That any prescribed medication had not been taken for weeks or months prior to their death, and heightened emotional circumstances combined with their mental health issues were the catalyst for the deed.

Only a few that I attended were outside these conditions.

To lay this young mans death as homophobia is beyond the pale and so very hypocritical from those who should know better.

Another good point. The victim card can only be used a set number of times.

One more development: Many conservative-leaning gays are turning on leftwing gays too – so this is an interesting development.

I see fireworks.

Thanks for the tip off. He does make some good points (and from real life experiences).

This is the like Sherriff Bart in Blazing Saddles fooling the yokels by threatening to shoot himself.

Homos are trying to blackmail normal people into becoming their supporters.

They say: “If you don’t approve of, and enable, me and my queer pals to engage in unnatural sex I’ll kill myself.”

I say: “I don’t blieve you - prove it.”

Reactionism is the reason for most of the asinine laws and problems we have in this country.

Gay rights opportunists aside, wasn’t this guy unknowingly and unwillingly videotaped in a sex act? Wasn’t that tape made public?

Would anyone want that done to their daughter?

It's eminently clear that the Gaystapo isn't really accusing bullying for "gay suicides," but US - anyone who says or even hints that homosexuality is immoral, unhealthy, and destructive.

We are the culprits, and we must be dealt with.

I remember when we weren’t supposed to mention gay suicides, because it suggested that gay people were depressed by their status and were prone to kill themselves.

Hmmm.

The Emperor hardly seems morally superior when he’s parading down the street in his suicidal purple underwear.

Evidently the proud craftsmanship of the Rainbow tailors isn’t so wonderful after all...

The Gaystapo knows this, but they are going to try their hardest to push their agenda while the "race card" effect is at its hottest, and ensconce their laws in place, like ENDA and the repeal of DADT. The publicity this nonsense is getting now is no mistake - homosexuals have been killing themselves at similar rates for a long time. Only now is it convenient to make it their pet issue by making us the evildoers.
