National Democrats have asked the Federal Election Commission to investigate whether Arizona Sen. John McCain violated campaign finance laws when his campaign paid to run ads for Republican House candidates in Arizona charges the McCain campaign said are baseless.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee filed a FEC complaint Tuesday against McCain and his campaign committee, Friends of John McCain, because of recent ads backing Ruth McClung, the GOP nominee in Arizonas 7th District, and Jesse Kelly, who is running in the 8th District. The complaint also asks the FEC to investigate whether McClung, Kelly and their respective campaign committees were in violation of campaign finance laws.
The TV commercials for Kelly and McClung include the standard disclaimer required by McCains namesake landmark campaign finance legislation, paid for by Friends of John McCain, and feature McCain himself announcing, Im John McCain and I approve this message.
Yet if McCain is spending more than $4,800 on each ad the legal limit for a political contribution its likely hes breaking the campaign finance law, Democrats say in the complaint.

You hit the nail on the head, these are two great candidates AZ Freepers are trying to get elected and we don’t need rabs pulling his typical crap right now.. it is time for some Freepers to grow the hell up and think about the country.
Fact of the matter is these are two good candidates we are trying to get elected and oust a couple of bad dems and this isn’t needed right now... Unlike California Arizona is still a red state and some of us want to keep it that way.
Have you seen the ads running here? We have. I don’t care who funds them if they take down the democratic candidates in the process.
What isn't needed right now? What did I post that you would like to censor?
Yes — I have seen the ads.
You are entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.
I appreciate all efforts to rid Congress of Raul Grijalva and Gabby Giffords. Gabby and Grijalva gotta go!
Helping the democrats in Arizona trying to take down two excellent candidates we have running. I could care less if McCain is trying to help them as long as someone is helping them... Tar McCain for what he does wrong, but when he is doing the right thing back off, this is too important and too many Freepers are actively involved in trying to elect good conservatives from Arizona.
So you would rather see the Democrat win in Arizona rather than have John mcCain help fund their ad campaigns....... sheesh!
I am doing no such thing! Get a grip!
Nothing like totally misrepresenting what I've said, Carolyn.
A class act -- NOT!
When you join rabs in belittling McCain for helping get Conservative Republicans defeat liberal democrats in Arizona that is exactly what you are doing. I have been watching as you go after Fiorina and Whiteman in California and that is your perogative, you have to live there (though I have family and friends there who are voting for both) but damn it you all need to lay off posting things that can screw it up for Arizona, we already know the media reads and takes excerpts from FR.
I completely disagree with you. I am doing nothing to harm conservative Republicans.
Go after Fiorina and Whitman? I’ve bit my tongue for months as to NOT do that. I don’t know what you think you’ve been reading, but I don’t think it is my posts.
As to rabs — I believe you are also misrepresenting his posts. I know he does not want any conservative Republicans defeated. Perhaps we just have a bit more faith in thinking breathing voters or don’t give overdue credit to posts on internet forums.
Oh... and the next time you come on California pre-primary threads supporting the next establishment RINO, singing the mantra of how conservatives can’t win in California, let it be known that I am biting my tongue respecting your right to have a conflicting opinion.
Have a nice night.
“Is the hatred of JM so strong here that you cant give him credit for his efforts?” - YES
And that's exactly what she did, she just won't fess up to it, much like Rabadash.
Rabadash Rabs knew what he was doing, he's been called on it, it's indefensible, and that's why he won't come back and try to man up about the crappy pro-democrat article he posted.
McCain can pay for the production of the piece while the Congressional campaign it was produced for can pay for the ad time. The Dems should know production of a commercial can come well under $4,800. This is a bogus fishing expedition. Weak.
I hate McCain, but if you’re going to go after him you better come better than this. He’s been in Washington sooooo long that this garbage won’t even scratch him.
Everything would have been different if McCain was president now. He knew how to get things done. He is a great American 'conservative', and popular with those Tucson Hispanics too. Especially the new ones the just 'immigrated' yesterday. And NBC likes him. He has a great shot for 2012.
Wrong.
I didn't come back because I fell asleep at my desk.
But keep on being the a-hole that you are...
McCain violated his own law, a law likely designed to muzzle conservatives, and you come on here attempting to defend him.
Sad, just sad.
" LAKESNARK "
Do you really want to take down Mcclung and Kelly? Do you want their opponents to win by using (as has been pointed out by others) baseless charges from democrats?
If they are McCainiacs, then they need to go.
Note that the above statement is an IF-THEN.
Congrats on being so incapable of cogent thought.....but that's nothing new.......
