Maffei, Arcuri outspend foes: Democratic incumbents outraise GOP rivals

As the campaign season entered its final weeks, the area’s two incumbent congressmen were outspending their Republican challengers by wide margins.

Of course, they had more to spend — a lot more.

For the quarter ending Sept. 30, Rep. Dan Maffei, D-25 of Syracuse, took in $366,805 in net contributions. Challenger Ann Marie Buerkle took in less than half of that: $147,888.

In the 24th District, incumbent Democrat Mike Arcuri of Utica outraised challenger Richard Hanna by a smaller margin, $256,291 to $138,527....

24th District

While Hanna had the fundraising edge early in the campaign, Arcuri quickly regained it, and he has maintained it ever since. Over the entire campaign, his contributions have totaled $1.5 million to Hanna’s $763,492.

For the quarter, Arcuri reported spending $382,349, Hanna $219,057.

As of Sept. 30, Arcuri had $475,671 in the bank. Hanna had $419,539 and reported $354,000 in debt. The latter consisted entirely of loans from Hanna to his campaign committee made between February 2008 and August 2010.

The district includes the city of Geneva, parts of Ontario County and Seneca County

25th District

Maffei’s campaign has been the area’s richest since the campaign season began. So far, his net contributions total $2.67 million — more than six times the $411,166 that Buerkle has raised.

For the quarter, Maffei spent $722,718, Buerkle $155,912.

Maffei’s campaign reported having $773,864 on hand and $10,186 in debt. Buerkle reported $187,079 on hand and $90,997 in debt

The district stretches from Syracuse to the Rochester suburbs and includes all of Wayne County.

Has Maffei returned close friend and mentor Charlie Rangel’s campaign donation?

I would venture to guess that the leftist incumbents source of funds come not from American citizens, for the most part, but from the pockets of those who have been nudging us toward slavery for the past 60 years or so.

Cuomo's Quotas

Palidino on John Gambling, WOR 710 AM talk radio in metro NY, direct link to the audio

Carl is on for a little over 11 minutes. He says he holding back until later, on Cuomo's HUD fiasco. Carl's October surprise?.

I hope he's able to describe how it led to all these bank failures, the collateralized debt obligations,(CDOs) which were made of all these resold no-downpayment loans, which the liberal rats on Wall Street peddled all over the world and the credit default swaps that Wall Street bet against knowing that the CDOs would become crap, sinking AIG and putting the arm on Uncle Sam's taxpayers! Cuomo should be hanged, not made governor.

FReepmail me if you want on or off my New York ping list.

Maybe so, but there are Buerkle signs absolutely EVERYWHERE. Based on what I've seen, she's extremely popular.

And I've yet to talk to someone who is pro-Cuomo although I've seen a few Cuomo signs up. Everyone I've talked to so far is sold on Paladino, or leaning very strongly towards him.

Please contact me if you’re interested in being added on or taken off the Carl Paladino for Governor ping list. This looks to be a fairly high volume ping list for a while, probably until the election.

I'm in Arcuri’s district (Utica-Rome area). Hanna ran against Arcuri in 2008 and almost beat him (53-48). He has a better chance this time.
