What's the point in making pilots go through this bs? They could just crash the damn plane if they wanted to commit terrorism.

Most of TSA is nothing more than a make work jobs program.

But they can’t blow it up first

A difference without a distinction...

But if a Pilot points this out, the TSA goons consider it a threat and arrest him.

Two weeks ago I refused to go through the full body scan. I have had open heart surgery and still have titanium bands around by sternum.

I also refused a pat down because there was no probable cause for one. I am a senior, balding, overweight white male who has flown professionally since 1976 (many times exceeding 100k miles per year) so I certainly don't fit the Moslem profile.

I've never been arrested in my life, have received two moving traffic violations for speeding over the course of my driving career, and consider myself a good, upstanding citizen who doesn't need to be hassled by "make work" programs of the TSA Union. Screw them, I drove. Had a nice Cohiba along the way.

I left the terminal but made sure I had my luggage with me (they had to take it off the plane) because, as you know, it is against the law for my bag to travel on an airplane without me being on board.

My hat's off to this pilot who has had enough.

Look around the airport boys and girls. All that security is the fault of Moslems. That's right. It started with the Palestinian Moslems in the 70s and escalated through the years to 9/11. Moslems cause this inconvenience.

The pilot is wrong. If you don't like working in a secure area, find another line of work.

At the point of entrance, the pilot is just another Joe Blow with credentials that may or may not be valid. He will not yet have access to the secure areas within the concourse. If you set up exceptions to screening, you have just created a pathway to infiltrate weapons. Who is to say that the "pilot" will even attempt to pilot a plane? Perhaps he is just the mule, using the pilot's exception to breach security and arm the real bad guys. Nope, get in line Jack and get screened along with the rest of the cattle.

You want your security to be a little schizo.

The TSA won’t profile, because an actual terrorist might set him/herself off in the terminal. They are so afraid to confront one so they go after WASP grandmas, teenage girls, and now pilots.

I was on a flight out of Cincinnati (OK, Kentucky) right after 911 and they picked a grandma and a teenage girl traveling with her family for additional screening and let a couple of middle-eastern-looking 20-something males with backpacks on board - no questions asked. There is a fear factor with the current crop of TSA employees and it carries right up to DHS (Nappy) and the White House (Muzzie).

Prepare to be flamed as a hate-America firster who loves Osama bin Laden and probably wants to have a homosexual relationship with him.

Don’t you know GW Bush was president when the TSA was created? That means it is good.

That’s what I expect around here.

I’ve been saying since 9/12/2001 that the best way to make flying safer is to arm the passengers. The only ones that have stopped attempted terrorists seem to be the passengers that beat them down on the flight.

What is involved with the pat down? How do they determine who gets the full body scan? Is it random? Does everyone that gets chosen for a full body screen get the option of a pat down?

Just because Michael Roberts transports monkeys to and from different zoos doesn’t mean he’s any better than any other monkey at the zoo.

Stand in line Mr. Roberts. Suffer the degradation. Respect authority.

lolol

Passengers should be offered a choice of weapons at the security checkpoint and there should be a shooting range in every concourse for those who wish to practice before boarding....

I have been partial to wooden bats, actually. They could be made to double as flotation devices in case of a water landing.

Just hand them out at boarding and collect them at landing.

Don't you get it? The pilot has a weapon in his hands: the aircraft's YOKE! He can crash the plane if he wants to! You HAVE TO TRUST HIM!

All this "schizo" pseudo-security is crap. Adopt the Israeli model and trust PEOPLE, not scanners.

Yeah, like those "schizo" TSA agents I saw in Detroit as I went through the metal detectors. The ones talking to each other about picking up Dre's new album and ignoring me completely.

I felt soooo safe with them on the job. I at least got a warm fuzzy feeling knowing my taxes went towards paying them.
