For any who have been following the Colorado gubernatorial race it as been an ugly, disastrous, GOP bungle in the middle of what should only be a Republican year. The hand-picked GOP establishment candidate was former congressman Scott McInnis. I actually like the guy, but he tended to be a flip-flopper and the TEA party types didnt trust him. He was opposed by no-name businessman Dan Maes who came out of nowhere riding the anti-establishment mood to emerge from the state convention with strong backing and a place on the primary ballot.
Within just a few days the press launched a well-placed and apparently true story about a plagiarism charge against Scott McInnis which had occurred for his work on water issues for an obscure foundation. What isnt really known is that the $300,000 fellowship was little more than pay-for-play influence money for wealthy Muslim Pakistani Seeme Hasan to get her son Ali into Colorado Republican politics with the help of a fairly popular former congressman.
The plagiarism scandal was just enough for the strongest of the two GOP gubernatorial candidates to be effectively knocked out of the race. At this point a number of backroom ideas and attempted deals started bubbling to the surface. Basically, the GOP establishment wanted Scott McInnis to win the primary. He would then be promised whatever and step down, and the party bosses would select a new candidate for governor to face Denver mayor John Loopy Hickenlooper in the fall.
But instead Dan Maes won the primary and immediately refused to play along and drop out for any new candidate. He figured hed won fair and square and was the legitimate and legal GOP candidate for governor. And technically he was.

I just voted for Tom Tancredo!
Actual name: Muhammad Ali Hasan
The country club republicans who tell us that we should be team players and get on board when they get a nomination are showing their true colors in Alaska, and Florida, and Colorado this year.
Don’t come knocking on my door looking for party unity when the shoe is on the other foot.
Hugh Nitwit
ROFL he was the #1 I was thinking of.
I wish I could have done so.
This. We really, really need to make sure we vet candidates better.
Hugh Hewitt is an anti-birther.
Good. They should be. Tea Party backed candidates running within the confines of the Republican party deserve support. 3rd party candidates virtually never deserve any support at all as they just split the conservative vote. Colorado this year is a rare exception where voting 3rd party is almost necessary since the Republican nominee is so terrible. Wasn't Maes a Tea Party backed candidate anyway? Isn't that how he managed to get the nomination in the first place.
He is a RINO, and also for amnesty.
Hichenlooper (D) is my guy. Live in Colorado Springs and rarely, if ever, vote democ'Rat. I'm a seasoned citizen, a Vietnam era Marine. Bottom line ... Hickenlooper brings something to the table, he's a successful business executive and a much better than average mayor of Denver. This is the type of individual we need in government today ... in spite of their party affiliation. Tom Tancrado is a bomb thrower ... no real established credentials just a lackluster pubbie who is riding the anti-Obama mid-term election wave.
I was assured by his staff in late 2008 that Tom would absolutely vote against TARP. He not only voted for it, but he voted for it TWICE. $700+ Billion dollars that he is willing to spend on enslaving my progeny.
Tom also voted in FAVOR of the Patriot Act while in Congress. The freedoms of Americans don't matter too much to him, I guess.
I've decided to vote for a Godly man who upholds biblical principles this election.
In other words, my family in not supporting any of the candidates for Colorado governor. We have chosen to fear God instead of man.
Good move. We need Tom in the governorship with redistricting coming up. Hugh Hewitt is a Country Class Republican. His buddy Michael Medved has really gone off the deep end.
Facebook is no longer allowing Tancredo to add more friends.
Yes, he does.
He is in favor of the slaughter of unborn babies in a state that was first to legalize baby murdering.
He is in favor of allowing homosexuals to have special rights, instead of standing firm against their abnormal deviancy.
In other words, John Hickenlooper has absolutely no fear of the God who he will one day stand before.
"Hi. I'm John Hickenlooper and I want to be your governor. I employed an Illegal Alien Gang member who murdered a Denver Cop...Denver is not a Sanctuary City...there is no gang problem here. Vote for me and make me governor so I can apply my policies statewide."
