All school meal programs are a disaster. (This was the subject of one of my early Rush calls.) It transforms schools into cafeterias in the eyes of some. (more than some) It also relieves a mother of her most natural instinct which is to feed her kids.

Unreal. Marxism is rearing it’s ugly head daily. This should help to destroy any family unit that may have existed prior. That’s the plan though!

D.C. public schools have started serving an early dinner to an estimated 10,000 students, many of whom are now receiving three meals a day from the system as it expands efforts to curb childhood hunger and poor nutrition.

Dorms are next...

It’s now the government’s job (local school district) to feed children? How will these children learn personal responsibility, if their parents are relieved of responsibility to feed them? Soon parents won’t have any responsibilities and the government can take over.

Well if they can’t educate them for $12K a head, maybe supplying 3 squares a day is something DC Public Schools could actually accomplish. Next union inspired public panic will be what are the students going to eat during weekends, holidays and summer?

I also doubt that there is any reduction in the food stamps going to these families whose children are receiving 3 meals a day at school. So we are paying twice to feed the same children. And then we are told we are not doing enough.

Cop free meals at school all day, then go home and chow down on Popeye’s.

Poverty and hunger have about ZERO positive correlation in modern America.

The #1 nutrition related problem of the “poor” in America is OBESITY.

You are, in fact, more likely to be obese if you are “poor” than any other economic group.

Have you SEEN these kids in PG County MD? Many look like linebackers/Sumo wrestlers.

I sent my middle son to a "Marine Biology Magnet School". Wrong. It was a minority child care facility offering breakfast, lunch, supervision and transportation to/from school. All at taxpayer expense. The "marine biology" part was one hour on alternate Thursdays...if the rep from Scripps decided to visit.

Now, this thread shows the schools moving to 3 meals a day, supervised daycare and transportation at taxpayer expense. Union daycare supervision with faux "education" degrees and leftist agenda that would make Marx proud. Barf.

No wonder they are getting fat, two breakfasts and two dinners a day.

The gubermint feeding students 3 times a day. What’s next, clothe them and build barracks for them so the parents don’t have to raise them at all?

These people are truly wards of the state and therefore owned by the state.

There is poverty in those areas because of liberal policies that have destroyed the family. Giving kids 3 meals a day won’t get to the basis of the problem.

What’s next? What will liberals think of next to increase dependency on government?

Who is calculating the Food Stamps in the District of Criminals?

Are they including the meals served at the schools when they calculate the food stamps for a ‘family’?????

I don’t think the food stamp people communicate with the school lunch people.

I think there is rrom for serious fraud in this mess. I think the ‘family’ is getting food stamps for meals that are NEVER prepared at home.

Who knows anything different?

ALSO—UNION workers are now working longer /overtime to serve the estra meals, I’ll bet.

Who wants to say different???

Why not just have them sleep there took and the “parents” won’t have to interrupt their crack smoking or drinking at all....

Under NObama, food stamps recipients have gone from 27 million to 43 million.

I also do not think there is any communication between the food stamp people & the school lunch people.

I think there is double dipping all over the country.

Nobama must laugh himself to sleep each & every night. Michelle, also.
