It's change grandma and grandpa believe in. Seniors are poised to vote at historic levels on Election Day. And it's bad news for Democrats. They support Republicans more than any other age group.
Republicans are more likely to vote at every age this year. But it's older Republican voters--including GOP-leaning independents--who could create a generational tide.
Young adults are not less likely to vote. Older adults are remarkably likely. Seniors and baby boomers are more engaged in the election and more enthusiastic about voting than pre-election polling has found since at least 1994...
The trend is strongest among voters age 65 and older. Eighty-four percent of seniors who are registered to vote say they will "definitely" vote. That's 9 percentage points above the previous record, 1994, when the question was first asked. Six in 10 seniors have given the election "a lot" of thought, also a peak. High enthusiasm and engagement generally signal high turnout.
Friday, Social Security beneficiaries found out they will see no increase in their benefit checks. Benefits traditionally rise with inflation. But 58 million seniors' found out it wont next year, like the year prior. That will not warm them to the party in power.
Democrats have either reconciled with, or missed, this senior moment.

Maybe some of them realize that they voted themselves their grandchildrens money all these years
I think that the fact that most are losing their Social Security Supplemental insurance programs is not sitting well with them either.
Maybe some of then have had their money stolen over their entire working life, and, just maybe, they feel that the other half of the promise should be kept.
My BIL voted for 0. All in favor of ObamaCare. Thinks we are getting even with people who haven't bought health insurance.
I politely told him that I hope he is one of the 50% that lose their Medicare Advantage.
“Helicopter Ben” however, is doing everything in his power to make sure there will be a large COLA adjustment in time for the 2012 elections.
I also suspect Obama’s promise of a $250 check in place of the COLA will fall on deaf ears as well. It’s like a sop to the little people...
Social Security is the tip of the iceberg.
Historically low interest rates and bond yields are crucifying those on fixed incomes. It is a huge transfer of wealth from savers to spenders, from the old to the young. The double whammy is the huge amount of inflation that is now locked into the economy thanks to the excess salaries to low productivity jobs in the public sector.
My 85 year old father still works every day.
Never, Never, Never underestimate the old “gray eagles”. He was an armorer during WWII, a nice quiet gentleman, but do not back him in a corner.
You should have seen his eyes when before the last elections, I showed him the video of the CA children singing the “Sing for Change” chants. He had seen that before, the Hitler youth in Germany.
Well they have watched their property become worthless, the COLA is minor compared to the REAL losses the Seniors and Baby Boomers have taken.
the BB’er that sat by and let this nightmare get hold of our society, have FINALLY awaken.
Yeah, I’m watching the Fatal Attration of Hitler.
Very interesting. Sounds familiar. he even had his “shovel ready “ projects.
I do hope the GOP knows these good folks are looking to them to save their lives from the rationing boards the Marxists are setting up.
I wonder if the WH thought of this. The seniors upset at them?
Let's cut to the chase -
THE LEFT INTENDS TO KILL SENIORS UNDER OBAMACARE
Scr** me once, shame on you....Scr** me twice and I’m gonna vote you “OUT”.
I think Laz calls that a "double tap".
In my opinion, history will remember the Baby-Boomer generation to be one of the most affluent and greedy of American generations. But that's not to say that the following generations won't be described by more repugnant adjectives.
Get rid of the people who know history—then you can rewrite it. Obama is EVIL and he is being abled by the DEMOCRATS which would make them evil too. And yes I know there are some bad apple republicans but I think the dems out number them
“AARP recently ran a study of its membership. Two-thirds lack confidence that their children’s generation will be better off than their own.”
Imagine that, the AARP supported 0bamacare and the Dim agenda, but the rank in file members of the AARP do not think that the country is going in the right direction. Maybe it’s time to find another organization.
This kind of reminds me of conservatives in the NRA and doctors in the AMA.
