In the movie "Gods and Generals", Stonewall Jackson addresses his troops at the very beginning of the Civil War. He reads a letter from Abraham Lincoln, advising states such as Virginia to "raise troops" in the event of Civil War. Jackson says to the lines of men in gray uniforms:
"Tell the president we have done so."
