I have an instinct that she was, in real life, close to the character she portrayed!
Great model, thanks, and my Our Lord shower you, Mrs. Cleaver, with His Infinite Divine Mercy and Saving Love.

I can see the Beaver's mom. Mrs. Cleaver, clear as can be, her smile, perfectly coiffed hair, shirtwaist dress showing off her nice figure in a modest way, and her mid-size high heels and clean, neat apron. The character was no Pollyanna; she had just enough of irony -a great mom. Today's Leftist TV shows glorify the anti-family and characters whose actions and life choices would have brought deep shame on any American family.

The kind of mom everyone deserves. June Cleaver harkens back to my youth and the days when I actually watched Television shows for entertainment. A sad day for legacy TV watchers everywhere.

Leave it to Beaver certainly depicted a time of greater innocence. I remember seeing a rerun of an episode at an airline frequent flyer's club where Ward told June he “...was going to go right downtown and look for Beaver” The whole place erupted in laughter.

Barbara (as June Cleaver) wore the pearls to cover up what she called "a hollow in my neck." As for the heels, she said she wore them because the boys were growing so fast, she felt she needed to maintain a little bit of height over them.
I did see her (as June Cleaver) sporting a sweatshirt and jeans, while she was doing some heavy-duty cleaning outside.
