I go back and look at that show again and see that it was pretty well written. Maybe the family was “too” perfect but that becomes kind of a benefit and not a flaw I think. RIP June Cleaver...

You are referring to Peter Billingsley. Your reply prompted me to do some research. It seems that Barbara kept the Billingsley name from the first of her three marriages, and Peter used the Billingsley name, even though it was his mother's maiden name. Barbara and Peter were related by Barbara's first marriage to the New York night club ("The Stork Club") entrepreneur and bootlegger, Sherman Billingsley, whose mistress was Ethel Merman.
Sherman must have been pleased by the currency his last name had in Hollywood, even more than that other bootlegger, Joe Kennedy.

RIP.
I don’t get why liberals chose that show to mock as “Republican suburban fantasy”. It was so lighthearted.

"That was Peter Billingsly. I dont think they are related."Peter Billingsley used his mother's maiden name professionally, She, his mother, was the sister of Glenn Billingsley, Barbara Billingsley's first husband. That would make her Peter Billingsley's aunt by marriage.
