RUSH: At a debate last night, Dingy Harry against Sharron Angle. Folks, I gotta tell you something here. The Washington Post, somebody, is calling this a tie. If it was a tie, then the floor was mopped with Harry Reid. She really did mop the floor with Harry Reid. I'm gonna tell you something, the Senate majority leader, number two, maybe number three most powerful Democrat in Washington, Harry Reid has presided and helped to preside over the worst economy since the Great Depression. He's presided over a runaway deficit, the beginning of the end of the private health insurance, the beginning of the end of private health care. We just had the new deficit numbers come out. It's going to be busting the north side of a trillion dollars again, which we all knew. Dingy Harry said the surge in Iraq was a failure, and "this war is lost." If Harry Reid, a lifer in government, a lifer at the top of the Democrat Party, if Harry Reid, practically from Jurassic Park in politics, if he cannot verbally trounce Sharron Angle in a debate, if he cannot make a convincing case as to how his and Pelosi's and Obama's agenda has made us better off than we were two, four, six years ago, there's absolutely no reason to reelect him.
In five years they can't run on one single thing they've done. Not just in the 18, 20 months of Obama, but since 2007 they have been in charge of the purse strings. They've been running the show, them and their media buddies. If they can't tell us, if they can't brag about their achievements, if they have to run from their achievements, if they gotta hide from 'em, there's absolutely no reason to reelect Reid or any of them, none, zilch, zero, nada. This debate last night should have been a mismatch. Nothing against Sharron Angle, but she is not a professional, by design. Harry Reid's got all the aid, he's got all the money, he's got all the marketing assistance, he's got all the political packages, he's got all the help. Compared to the professional politician that is Dingy Harry, on paper, undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, Angle was a featherweight climbing into the political ring for the first time, and the reality is that she knocked Harry Reid out cold in the arena of ideas.
It wasn't even a fair fight, and this is happening throughout. Christine O'Donnell ditto in Delaware, I don't care what anybody says. The women of the Republican Party are fed up. These women in the Tea Party, they're fed up with the way this system is going and the way the system has been run. She asked Dingy Harry a question. We're gonna get to these sound bites. (paraphrasing) "How did you get so rich? How did this happen? You go to Washington with nothing. How do you end up so rich?" And Dingy Harry, (paraphrasing) "I was a lawyer and I've lived on a fixed income because I've invested wisely." He has to live on a fixed income. This is Dingy Harry tugging at our heartstrings. Never mind he gets to vote whenever he wants to on how high that fixed income is. And he never did answer the question, "How did you get so rich?" The most powerful legislator in the land, Harry Reid, called an unemployed grandmother a tool of the special interests. Now, how in the name of Sam Hill -- and there was a Sam Hill -- can anybody make that charge with any credibility whatsoever? She is essentially an unemployed grandmother. She's just us. She is us. She is a tool of the special interests. Yeah, I guess she's a puppet of her grandchildren. It makes her probably anti-broccoli because the kids, the special interests in her life don't like broccoli.
What are we talking about here? The ruling class, the political elite, the machine is being undressed before our very eyes when we have a Tea Party candidate going up against an established ruling class machine politician. It's actually nice to see. You notice that nobody called Dingy Harry the W-word, nobody called him a whore, in a state where it's legal! Nobody called him a whore. She coulda gotten away with it because they are in a state where it is legal, and judging from Harry Reid's career, whoring seems to be expected. Yet the word didn't come up.

RUSH: Even in the New Republic, a liberal journal of opinion propaganda, there's a story by T.A. Frank, who works for Washington Monthly. "Reid My Lips," the headline, "Last Night Was a Disaster." Now, the point of this piece is that Dingy Harry allowed Sharron Angle to look reasonable enough to the author, to this Democrat, and gave incoherent answers on his own behalf. Imagine that. Imagine that! A writer for Washington Monthly, the New Republic, said Reid screwed up because he allowed Sharron Angle to look reasonable enough. The Democrats cannot win diddly-squat this election. The only thing that they're having any success at (and this is with the aid and assistance of the State-Controlled Media) is to make some Republicans look like kooks, nutcases. It is how they're attempting to portray everybody in the Tea Party movement.
Carl Paladino, Christine O'Donnell, Sharron Angle.
She's us. The kook is Harry Reid. The oddball is Harry Reid. The extremist is Harry Reid. The guy destroying the country and the private sector along with Obama is Harry Reid. Sharron Angle never did anything to anybody. Harry Reid is not reasonable. Anyone who would support policies and vote for them as Harry Reid has is unreasonable, is profoundly extremist. Spending money the country doesn't have; printing money the country doesn't have, placing future generations in debt they'll never be able to get out of. Destroying, essentially, the generation of wealth and the way it happens in this country. Confiscating it, redistributing it. Harry Reid.
I mean, let's be honest. Who's extreme here? Who's odd? I've always thought Harry Reid was a bit of an oddball. And he screwed up last night because he "allowed" Sharron Angle to "look reasonable"? Of course the presumption going is she's not reasonable. Why is she not reasonable? Because she's not a member of the ruling class, because she's not a member of the professional political ranks. Can you imagine somebody on our side writing a story, "You know, I didn't like what Sharron Angle did. She let Harry Reid seem reasonable." Let's go to the audio sound bites. Last night in Las Vegas Dingy Harry and Sharron Angle. Dingy Harry said this about insurance companies and health care reform...
REID: Insurance companies don't do things out of the goodness of their hearts. They do it out of a profit motive and they have almost destroyed our economy. We need them to be forced to do mammograms. That's why you see Breast Cancer Awareness Month, you see the baseball players wearing pink shoes and you see the football players having pink, uhhh, helmets. You detected it if you do mammograms. Colonoscopies! If you do colonoscopies, colon cancer does not come 'cause you snip off the things they find when they go up, and no more. And we need to have --
RUSH: What in the world is this?
REID: -- have insurance companies do this. It will save money in the long run to do this.
RUSH: Profound incoherence! You hear him describe a colonoscopy here. "Colonoscopies! If you do colonoscopies, colon cancer does not come 'cause you snip off the things they find when they go up, and no more." This is the reasonable intelligence of Harry Reid. "Insurance companies have destroyed our economy" and they say Sharron Angle is the kook? "Insurance companies don't do things out of the goodness of their hearts. They do it out of a profit motive and they have almost destroyed our economy"? Right. Who is it that's targeting insurance companies, in fact the entire industry? You just heard it. It's Harry Reid, the Democrat Party, anything in the private sector. The US health care system, insurance system is among the best in the world, and these people have set out to destroy it.
In fact, they have. And, by the way, Dingy Harry, I don't know what the hell you're looking at, but so far there has not been one "pink helmet" during the month of October in the National Football League; and I don't think anybody in the NCAA is wearing pink helmets. Now, this is Harry Reid. It's just unbelievable. He's an absolute idiot. And women, I'll tell you. In general, there's something going on. There's something in the air. Women in general, regardless of politics, are sick and tired of all this wimpy old men that have been running the show of late, running it everywhere but in a good direction. A positive action is not being seen. They're running the country into the ground, and women are fed up with it. And Harry Reid has been the forefront. Here is Sharron Angle during a back-and-forth on Social Security.
ANGLE: Man up, Harry Reid! You need to understand that we have a problem with Social Security. That problem was created because of government taking that money out of the Social Security trust fund. What we need to do is keep our promises to our senior citizens by putting the money back in the trust fund and, going forward, allowing our workers to have the option of a personalized Social Security retirement plan that becomes an asset to them, just like your Thrift Savings Plan is an asset to you. If it's good enough for you, it should be good enough for the rest of us.
RUSH: And Dingy Harry had seen response standing by...
REID: Mitch, these ideas of my opponent are really extreme. I said CBO. The actuarial said there's plenty of money in that trust fund account. During the Clinton years we did not use the trust fund monies to offset the deficit. We were strengthening Social Security by not using it to offset the deficit. Her facts are absolutely wrong.
RUSH: "Mitch, these ideas of my opponent are really extreme." The extreme ideas are coming from the White House and the Democrat Party, and they are clearly not pro-American ideas, not in the general sense as they're understood. And for anybody to try to tell us that Social Security is in good shape? There's nothing in good shape. There's nothing that's showing a positive on the balance sheet! There's nothing in the black. There is no "trust fund." The Social Security, whatever it is, budget, has been used to offset budget deficits for decades. It is Harry Reid who is extreme and was a stranger to the truth throughout that debate last night.

RUSH: Let me go back and I want to play this most recent excoriation of insurance companies by Harry Reid one more time and rebut this thing fully.
And we need to have -- have insurance companies do this. It will save money in the long run to do this.
RUSH: Now, that's Dingy Harry on insurance companies. Here he is on Social Security one more time.
RUSH: All that's talking points. All of that is gobbledygook. All of that is lies. In the first place, insurance companies have the lowest profit margin of just about any industry, and they're on the brink of being put out of business by people like Harry Reid, as is almost every other industry. The oil industry is a target of people like Harry Reid. Corporations? Evil, corporations! Anything that's in the private sector that turns a profit, by definition in these people's perverted world, is evil. And they say that Sharron Angle is the kook? Now, they just announced back in May that Social Security is going to be in the red this year, six years earlier than thought -- and "in the red" means Social Security is going to be paying out more than it takes in for the first time in history.
And that is all from the same Congressional Budget Office that Dingy Harry was just citing as the source of all of his lies, and if you want I could give you the link from the New York Times for these details. "Social Security to See Payout Exceed Pay-in This Year." Where are all these so-called fact checkers in the media? I haven't seen one fact check on this debate. I haven't seen one fact check of anything that Harry Reid happened to say. Let's move on now to Sharron Angle accusing Dingy Harry of saying, "This war is lost." The moderator, Vegas PBS' Mitch Fox, says, "You're quoted as saying the following: 'The war is lost. The surge is not accomplishing anything, as indicated by this extreme violence,' end quote. Do you believe that your statement demoralized the troops and were inaccurate as judged by the success of the troop surge?"
REID: The statement that I made was made following General Petraeus saying the war cannot be won militarily. He said and I said the war could only be won militarily, economically, and diplomatically. That's why after I made my statement and General Petraeus made his statements, we did the surge then, not later. And it was the right thing to do. General Petraeus has done a good job. He's my friend.
RUSH: Once again, chocked full of lies. Harry Reid said, "This war is lost." The dirty little secret -- and it's not even a secret any longer. The fact of the matter is that Harry Reid and the Democrat Party were trying to secure defeat in Iraq for two years. They wanted to saddle George W. Bush and the Republican Party with defeat. They sought it. They were demoralizing the US military, on purpose. It was the first time in my life that a political party had sided against the United States in a military conflict, all for the purpose of political advancement. Now, he can try to revise history all he wants, he can try to lie through his teeth, but we all remember. He did say, "This war is lost." He was not polite to General Petraeus. He led the movement in the Democrat Party in the Senate to try to make sure that public support for the war in Iraq crumbled. Not only that, Dingy Harry and his cronies were trying to convince you we were in a recession when unemployment was a mere 4.7%. In the midst of a boom, roaring economy, Harry Reid, the Democrat Party wanted you to believe that we were in a recession; that the Bush tax cuts had caused all kinds of economic stagnation and misery. Here's the totality of what Dingy Harry said: "I believe myself that the secretary of state, secretary of defense and -- you have to make your own decisions as to what the president knows -- this war is lost and the surge is not accomplishing anything as indicated by the extreme violence in Iraq yesterday."
And so Dingy Harry says now, "The statement that I made was made following General Petraeus saying the war cannot be won militarily. He said and I said at war could only be won militarily, economically, and diplomatically." So he's trying to twist this around and say he was the one who ended up advising Petraeus on how to win this -- and they call Sharron Angle the kook? You know, in common, ordinary parlance, the way normal people talk, Harry Reid is a liar. It's normal complicated than that. He's a shameless little man. He's a liar. I have my own personal experiences with him to document it: The "phony soldier" routine. There's no question in my mind, and anybody else who's reasonable, who poses a tremendous threat to this country's future in terms of recovering from this economic disaster. With people like Harry Reid in the Senate, in charge of the Democrat Party, progress will be retarded and stagnant and perhaps never take place by design. Now, Sharron Angle was listening to Harry Reid go on and on about how he finally ended up working with Petraeus. He and Petraeus -- his good friend, by the way -- came up with a plan. Sharron Angle said...
ANGLE: We need to support our military with all of our resources. Not only our military and service right now, but those veterans and their families as well. When you said, "This war is lost," and said that General Petraeus was dishonest, that emboldened our enemies, demoralized our troops, and endangered them, and you need to apologize to them, Senator.
RUSH: Right on, right on, right on. No nonsense. And here's what Dingy Harry said in reply...
REID: I've been endorsed by the largest military organization in the country, the Vet'rans of Foreign Wars. My opponent... Listen to this idea! She wants to privatize the Vet'rans Administration. Think about that, privatize the Vet'rans Administration. I worked hard. I appreciate the work of our military and will continue to work with them the rest of my political career.
RUSH: What is wrong with privatizing the VA? What's wrong with privatizing the public sector? Ssomebody tell me where it's working. Somebody tell me where anything the federal government is running is working. It's like Christine O'Donnell the other day. What in the world is wrong with local school boards determining curricula? What's wrong with this? What is extreme about it? He sits here, and he says, "Listen to this idea! She wants to privatize the VA. Think about that." Yeah, we ought to think about that. Privatize the Veterans Administration. You're not doing a damn good job in charge of it, Harry. Nothing you're in charge of is working well except for you, and we can't even say that what you're in charge of for you is working well.
You're about to get shellacked! Here is a guy and voting and governing against the will of the American people and he calls her extreme. I think Harry Reid loved "General Betray Us" so much that didn't he refused to denounce the MoveOn.org ad? I'm not sure. We'd have to look that up. But I never got the impression that Harry Reid and Petraeus were "friends." When did that happen? When is the last time they got together for barbecue? Has Harry Reid heard the news from Europe? They are privatizing everything that they can in Europe because Harry Reid's way is leading to destruction. Everything's imploding. Imagine that. And then there was this. Sharron Angle wanted to know from Dingy Harry how he got so wealthy on a government payroll.
ANGLE: The tax cuts need to be made permanent. If they're not, we will experience the largest tax increase in the history of America -- and with voting for over 300 tax increases, Senator, we can't trust you with our taxes. Not only that, you came from Searchlight to the Senate with very little. Now you're one of the richest men in the US Senate. On behalf of Nevada taxpayers, I'd like to know -- we'd like to know -- how did you become so wealthy on a government payroll?
RUSH: Right on, right on, right on! Everybody would like to have this question answered because we know! We know what the answer is: Kickbacks, bribes, schemes, payoffs, insider deals. We all know what happens with these people, and she's right. He shows up from Searchlight, Nevada, and now he's a land baron? Land in California, land in Nevada? The LA Times has run an expose story on -- what shall I say? -- the curious arrangement and outcome of some of Dingy Harry's deals. That's just coincidence. Here is... You want to hear a flailing answer. The question is: "How did you become so wealthy on a government payroll?"
REID: That's really a kind of a low blow. I think most everyone knows I was a very successful lawyer.
RUSH: I didn't.
REID: I did a very good job in investing. I have been on a fixed income since I went to Washington.
RUSH: What is that?
REID: And lived off of what I made in the private sector. I put my five kids through a hundred semesters of school and I've paid for every penny of it. So her suggestion that I made money being a Senator is simply false, and I'm really disappointed that she would suggest that. I will further say: If she wants the tax cuts to be made permanent for everybody, we have a deficit problem to worry about also.
RUSH: Had to get that talking point in, had to get that talking point that tax cuts lead to deficits. And I was right: Dingy Harry refused to vote to condemn the "Betray Us" ad. He refused to vote for it. He refused to vote to condemn an ad pummeling his "good friend," General Petraeus. "I think most everybody knows I was a very successful lawyer." I didn't know that, but that alone tells us something. "I did a very good job in investing." Yeah, I'm reminded of Hillary Clinton turning a thousand dollars into a hundred thousand dollars in cattle futures with the help of Robert "Red" Bone in Arkansas. Remember that? She said, "Yeah, I read the Wall Street Journal. That's where I learned about trading cattle futures." Reid says, "I was a very successful lawyer. I did a very good job in investing. I have been on a fixed income since I went to Washington."
What does he want us to believe with that? What he wants us to believe is hideous investments somewhere in a blind trust and he's living off whatever they produced and it's fixed, fixed income. Maybe he has tax-free municipal bonds, fixed income, but he's also paid a Senate salary. That's not a fixed income. Well, I wouldn't call it a fixed income. Maybe he does, but it isn't fixed. It has seen increases. He's got all kinds of perks as a United States Senator as well. "I put my five kids through a hundred semesters of school. I paid for every penny of it. The suggestion I made money being a Senator is simply false," and yet we got Barney Frank running around (doing impression) "Yeah, I flew a'wound pw'ivate jet! What's w'ong with having w'ich fw'iends? What's w'ong with that? What's w'ong with having w'ich guys for fw'iends? What's w'ong with it?" Uh, up until now, rich guys have been criminals. Now when you have one as a friend, (impression) " What's w'ong with that? I got on a p'wivate p'wane, go to the Virgin I'wands. Why not go to the Virgin I'wands?" Why not go to the Virgin I'wands? What's w'ong with having w'ich guys for fw'iends?" And then Harry Reid: "I don't have any rich friends. I'm on a fixed income. I'm barely getting by. My five shlub kids, I went broke putting 'em through school." And Sharron Angle is the kook and is the extremist.

RUSH: Harry Reid has been in politics since 1966. I'm gonna try to find out between now and the start of the next hour, I'm going to be busy here. While you all are enjoying messages from our fine sponsors, I'm going to be finding out just when the hell it was that Harry Reid was a good lawyer. I'm gonna look that up. He's been in politics since 1966. I want to find out when he had the time to be a good lawyer and where he was when he was a good lawyer and how much he was paid when he was a good lawyer. And my guess is... I'll reserve my guess. I'll save it for the facts. But in the meantime, while Dingy Harry is calling Sharron Angle a kook and a freak and extremist, May 1st, 2010, Wall Street Journal, and July 7th, 2010, the Washington Examiner, two stories on Big Pharma funneling piles of money into Harry Reid's Nevada campaign. No word of Big Insurance funneling big money into Harry Reid's campaign, but Big Drug is and did.
From TheHill.com, June 29th of this year: "General Petraeus' Nomination Puts Some Democrats in Awkward Spot." Why? Because Reid called Petraeus a liar when he said the surge was working. Harry Reid said that he and Petraeus were good friends, (imitating Reid) "We worked together to come up with a strategy that would work." I got the story right here: "Reid told CNN in April of 2007 he did not believe Petraeuss claim that the surge was working in Iraq. 'I dont believe him, because its not happening,' Reid said. 'All you have to do is look at the facts.'" (imitating Reid) "This war is lost." Harry Reid is a liar. He's a small man like Obama, liar, through his teeth, in a debate that he shoulda mopped the floor with last night 'cause he's up against a rank political amateur. He had his clock cleaned. It was about time.
When we come back, folks, I'm going to do the research. I'm going to find out just when the hell he was a lawyer. In 1966 I was running the board at a radio station in Cape Girardeau in preparation for going to Texas to an electronics school to get my first-class radio license to get on the air in 1967, and I was also at two-a-day practices with the high school football team in August, that's what I was doing in 1966. Harry Reid was already in politics in 1966. I was 15 years old, but I'm going to find out when the hell he was a good lawyer. I'm gonna find out what he did as a good lawyer and he said people, remember, I was a good lawyer. Must mean he was paid a lot of money. We'll find out how much. So he's been living off of whatever he invested outta making money as a lawyer since 1966. It has to be huge, folks, it has to be huge.

Harry’s done.
I am so looking forward to seeing this little puke crawl back to his hole in Searchlight.
-—REID: I’ve been endorsed by the largest military organization in the country, the Vet’rans of Foreign Wars.-—
Is this true? When? Twenty years ago? Or were they bought off for their endorsement?
It’s a lengthy discussion, but it’s worth reading every word of it.
Let us hope so. This is no time to rest. After the election there will be time to rest before we have to start countering the lies of the MSM that all the problems caused by Democrats and Obama can now be laid at the feet of a resurgent, conservative congress.
Does anyone have a good line to Rush? I literally wrote the book on where Harry Reid got his money, all corrupt and some mob related. Click on my name for more. I know for certain Reid has been taking bribes from the beginning.
Don Williams, a friend of mine, was Reid’s campaign manager in the early years and picked up bags of cash from mobbed up pimp Joe Conforte at the Mustang Ranch brothel in 1970 and 1974. Rather than old news, once you are on the bribery rollercoaster, you can’t get off. I go through how the corruption continued during Reid’s time on the Gaming Cmmission, the G-Sting scandal, the DesertXpress scam, the City Center scam, etc. etc. There’s thirty-one dense chapters of corruption. I haven’t been able to get through to El Rushbo, any help would be appreciated.
That’s some damn fine legwork by Rush.
Somebody please get this story to Sharon Angle; it explains everything, and it also shows why Harry Reid belongs in jail.
This is one serious money trail.
Angle Mops the Floor with Reid-—but it was easy b/c Harry was prostrate, licking Obama’s boots the whole debate.
The DemonRAT talking points have been crushed.
Apparently there’s something called VFW-PAC, which is a leftist front group ripping off the VFW’s name. Why the real VFW doesn’t sue them out of existence is a mystery to me.
Thank you, that is a great and useful article. That’s just one of many money trails I’m following with Reid that are also huge.
Rush was so on fire yesterday. Just a wonderful program. So glad I didn’t miss it!
This is borderline incoherence.
I love the one about him being "very successful attorney in private practice" -- only to find out on the Limbaugh show Harry Reid was a city attorney for some podunk in Nevada two years out of law school. (I guess it's possible he had a private practice at the same time, but not likely.)
The VFW created the VFW-PAC.
How about if you get it to the Sharron Angle camp and let them get the word out; Rush will pick it up from there.
