Os magic wanes

So, has the magic gone?
Sure, theres always a certain level of excitement during a presidential visit. The motorcade, the prospect of a wave here, a photo op there, for a few brief hours being the center of the political universe.
Asked about the why of todays visit by Barack Obama on his behalf, Gov. Deval Patrick said, Hes the president of the United States. I havent been doing this so long that it doesnt excite me that the president of the United States would come along and take up our cause.
Other good Democrats, running in other parts of the country, have not been so eager to be side-by-side with this president. But, hey, this is Massachusetts and if Obama didnt do much to save the Senate campaign of Martha Coakley, well, that wasnt his fault.
But some 10 months later the landscape has indeed changed. Hundreds of millions of federal dollars have been sent back to Massachusetts - for Medicaid, for roads and bridges, for public employee salaries - and were supposed to be grateful.
But an increasing number of Massachusetts voters - the realists among us - are unhappy and disillusioned. (Suffolk Universitys latest poll showed 56 percent of independent voters disapprove of Obama.)

Bottle rockets fly all over the place in random pattens, emit smoke, and in the end amount to little more than a fizzle.
Pretty good analogy!
And he was lit with a “punk”
LOL!!
I waited to see Queen Elizabeth’s open carriage in England -I waited to see Harry Truman’s motorcade in Savannah - I waited to hear Gerald Ford speak in SC and George Bush in Mississippi.
I visited the WH and hoped not to see Bill Clinton.
I would cross the street or the subway to avoid BO.
"It is quite evident that you have always lived in the country," answered the Rocket, "otherwise you would know who I am. However, I excuse your ignorance. It would be unfair to expect other people to be as remarkable as oneself. You will no doubt be surprised to hear that I can fly up into the sky, and come down in a shower of golden rain."
"I don't think much of that," said the Duck, "as I cannot see what use it is to any one. Now, if you could plough the fields like the ox, or draw a cart like the horse, or look after the sheep like the collie-dog, that would be something."
"My good creature," cried the Rocket in a very haughty tone of voice, "I see that you belong to the lower orders. A person of my position is never useful. We have certain accomplishments, and that is more than sufficient. I have no sympathy myself with industry of any kind, least of all with such industries as you seem to recommend. Indeed, I have always been of opinion that hard work is simply the refuge of people who have nothing whatever to do."
New Year's Day parade, 2009, in Berlin IIRC.
Thanks for the great link!
Enjoy.

Racist!!! lol
I wonder if he got a chance to visit his auntie, whilst in Boston?
From the very first time I saw and heard this pos, I told my wife (and anyone else who would listen)that obama was an empty suit.
I have been chatting for several monthes on a local forum. There is a woman on there who thinks Obama is not liberal enough. I mean this woman is about as far left as anyone I have ever seen. Yet she is articulate, and somewhat polite and we seemed to have friendly conversations. In other words, we respectfully disagreed. But the other day someone made a really snarky comment about Trigg Palin. The poster called him a retard. I spoke up and said leave her baby out of it. No one but myself defended him. So I said am I the only one who is going to defend this child? The rest of the liberals on the thread then spoke up and defended him. But the woman I had nearly become friends with said Sarah exploited her children, blah blah blah, and she still refused to defend him. Well, I stopped chatting with her. I learned a lesson. With them, there is NO decency. They are liberals first.
First time I heard of him was after the 2004 ‘rat convention, and I said then, oh crap, this pos is going to be president someday. Especially the way the media went beserk over him. But I figured it would be 2012, not 2008.
For 75% hes too liberal, for 20% hes not liberal enough, and for 5% hes just...the right color.

Not sure if this is your quote of someone elses, but it’s excellent! Completely accurate!
“With them, there is NO decency. They are liberals first.”
Amen. Since the socialist worm has occupied the WH I have learned that sad fact about acquaintences I used to respect.

Thanks Art - ‘twas mine. Must be the second pot of coffee this morning ;-)
It is just SOOOOOOO WRONG.
