Palin: Nov. 2 elections are about 'the little guy' (warns GOP about seeking Bipartisanship)

Looking ahead to next month's midterm elections, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said Friday that the country needs to elect business-minded candidates who will not sell out their principles for the sake of bipartisanship.

Palin spoke to a crowd of about 2,000 people at a forum hosted by the Sacramento Metro Chamber. The appearance was part of a three-day promotional and political swing through California that will culminate in a Republican National Committee rally in Orange County on Saturday.

"This election is about the little guy, the common man, independence, and the middle class—those forgotten and ignored for far too long, and now they're fighting back," Palin said. "They—we—are saying enough is enough."

The former vice presidential candidate predicted a wave of change at the state and federal levels after Nov. 2. But she warned that newly elected Republicans should avoid bipartisan unity if it serves to perpetuate the status quo.

"We want those business-oriented folks in Washington not to be there singing 'Kumbaya' with the people who caused the problems in the first place," she said.

Palin's fellow speaker at the event, former Vermont governor and Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, called this election one of the most uncivil he has seen in his lifetime, particularly the campaign ads coming from both parties.

"If you look at the ads, the average ad is about 20 percent fact and 80 percent fiction. They are outrageous," he said.

And your Democrat ads are one hundred percent shameless lies around these parts, Howie.

Bingo. I don’t think the institutional GOP realizes that it stands on the edge of oblivion. If it does not serve to resist, rollback and defeat the encroaching tyranny, it has no valid use whatsoever.

They won't.

That is why we have Obama, Nancy, and Dingy in the first place.

They NEVER learn, they just test the air for votes instead of doing what is right for the country.

Flame on!

Sarah is right.

We need change all right, Conservative change. We need to dump RINO’s and elect Republicans.

If they wish to suck up to Democrats instead of pushing a Conservative agenda thet need to hit the road and we need to help them do it.

If anybody gives you a hard time about your post remind them that every tax in America was approved by and voted on by both parties.

I don’t think the institutional GOP realizes that it stands on the edge of oblivion.

The media doesn't either, including lots of conservative pundits. They talk about a GOP resurgence but it is really the Last Chance for the GOP. If they do not cut spending (more than the piddly 2008 rollback Boehner is pushing) and reduce the size of the government (close some Departments), all of the democrat disaster stories of 2010 will be recycled in 2012 with the word 'Republican' on them.

I have to think the GOP is getting the message...there is no money at the RNC, yet individual candidates are raking it in. That has to get noticed by the party.

I truly wonder if she even realizes what sort of a hypocrite she looks like when she says these things yet refuses to distance herself from the King of the RINOs, John McCain?

But this can’t be. I thought Precious was a McCain-loving RINO?

GOP has consorted with the enemy compromise our future

So we should just abandon them then?

There are tons of real conservatives running as Republicans. Do you advocate that they go 3rd party and the Dem will win by default?

I'm a huge critic of the GOP but I'm not going to throw the baby out with the bathwater this year.

This woman is spot-on 95% of the time. It's a shame there are knuckle-draggers at FR from whom anything less than 100% is never enough.

Would you prefer Romney, Ron Paul, Pawlenty, Daniels, the Hucksyter, Thune?

I was wondering if this wasn’t a good way for her to tell everyone NOT to vote for McCain or any RINO without naming names.

Thank you, the only person that 100% agrees with OrangeHoof is OrangeHoof......She already said that she disagree with McCain on many issues and after she did the fundraisers for him she didn’t say much of anything about McCain after that and yet he can’t name a single potential that even said something close like this about the GOP bending over for bipartisan sake with the democrats......I might be wrong but I don’t think so

Sarah Palin has the spunk to continue in the face of harsh ridicule from the Democrats. She is undeterred. Her ability to communicate is powerful and a gift.

Thank You, God, for bringing Sarah Palin forward in a time of great need for America.

According to Thy promises, Father God, Bless Sara Palin, keep her under Thy protection, and allow not any evil intended against her family or herself, in Jesus name amen.

Yeah, forget bipartisanship.

If the Pubs regain control of Congress, I demand they run the House just like Pelosi & Reid did: Ignore the Rats & pass conservative measures by any means possible.

I better not hear Boehner, as the new Speaker, giving a fond farewell speech about what a great American Pelosi is. Snatch the gavel from the beotch & send her to the back of the room. I would warn the Rats that if they elect her minority leader, they can expect the worst possible treatment from the majority.

Oh, & move Pelosi’s office to a stall in the men's bathroom & give her free access to a crop duster for flights home.

I am warming up to Sarah Palin, mostly because the Left hates her so much. But I'd still like to see a “hard as nails” man win the Presidency in ‘12. Chris Christie would be perfect if he were more conservative.
