This is a blatant attempt to buy the votes of seniors with taxpayer money.

Notice that this happens two weeks before the election, is announced on Friday afternoon to avoid the immediate attention of conservative talk shows, and benefits those democrats in congress that will "push the president's agenda forward."

This makes me sick, and I hope the seniors will see it for the bribe that it is, and not sell their vote for a measly $250.

So King Barry is going to rob from the taxpayers and/or borrow to throw some coins to the peasants again with this “rebate”.

The only place this is going to end is the first hyperinflation that the USA has ever experienced.

I am not for sale. Maybe I am a senior but I am not senile.
I can use the money but that is like 30 pieces of silver.

What a joke, hubby and I are still waiting for the last one. We did get a $120 tax hike on his Navy retirement this year. Next year we get hit by a $1,200 tax hike...besides the CommieCare tax hikes. And I’m sure the local gov’t wants a property tax hike to boot. Hubby is 70 and not able to work any longer.

That is a months worth of groceries that’s all it is. You should see the frail elderly lined up at our local community center in Millington, TN..the line has tripled in the past 2 yrs. These are 70-90 year olds most on walkers or in wheelchairs or those funky canes, they qualify for $10-30 in food stamps...now if they were illegals, they’d get tons of FREE healthcare, several hundreds of dollars per month in food stamps and free rent.

Wow, manna from DC! This must be that "Obama money" I heard about! I'm gonna take mine and use it to spend the summer in the south of France...

(Now please, if anybody doesn't get the sarcasm in that statement, don't say anything snarky about it or we'll make fun of you.)

If he can do this, then why doesn’t he just give an increase instead? It really doesn’t need to be this complicated.

What is the significance of $250? They’ve rebated that same amount several times in the last 3, or 4, years. Do they think that $250 is the magic amount that makes us sit up and be grateful?

Take your $250 and put it where the sun don’t shine. My dad, who worked in restaurants most of is life, would return small tips with a comment “Here, you need this worse than I do”.

Besides, my vote is priceless and I’m doing just fine without that $250.

Don’t worry that SOB could offer me $250,000,000 and I still wouldn’t vote for him. Most seniors I know feel the same way about it.

It's not a 'measly $250' for some people. Those people who chose to work "every now and then" - or part time sometimes - might only be receiving $300 a month in Social Security to start with... For them - this is big.

For the person who worked their whole life, played by the rules, and tried to get ahead - and paid a lot into the system - this is nothing.

Obama's doing a redistribution from those who paid into the system to those who didn't pay crap...
