I’m an atheist and I am probably of higher moral character than most believers. It does not take a god to instill a good sense of right and wrong.
Those people who think that it takes a belief in god to achieve a higher moral state are a little annoying.

Who makes the rules that govern morality in your little world? Do you pull them out of your tachat or do they exist in some sublime Platonic sphere of Ideals?

At least you have the "humility" part down!

Why are your morals valid, or more valid than someone else’s that would be in opposition to yours?

It may not take a god to instill a sense of right and wrong, but it takes God to justify a sense of right and wrong. Quite frankly, if, as an atheist, you are correct, then you are a sucker for limiting yourself to some arbitrary code of behavior. However, if, as an atheist, you are wrong, then you are a fool for denying the source of your moral code, and of the satisfaction that comes from adhering to it.

define "right" and "wrong". Apart from God these words have no meaning as your "right" could very well be my "wrong".

Atheism, if the atheists were being honest, always comes down to "might makes right"

“It does not take a god to instill a good sense of right and wrong.”

No, it takes a God to immutably define right and wrong and thereby provide a consistent basis for understanding it. If there is no God then your “right and wrong” goes only as far as you and your guys and your guns can take it. It certainly may not mean a damn thing to me. Why should YOUR opinions count more generally than anyone elses?

I have zero problems with Athiests. I am an agnostic, non religionist. I came to that through lots of contemplation and thought. I have no problems with anyone that is religious, that is their choice. You can be a fine, decent and moral athiest or agnostic, just as someone that professes to adhere to a religion can be a completely immoral bastard.

Its the individual, not the faith, or lack of faith.
