RNC Clueless on the Democrat Voter Turnout Strategy

Excerpt...

Late last month when the RNC announced that it would cut its get out the vote (GOTV) program, conservative groups around the country adjusted and decided to run their own GOTV programs. But what does the RNC’s decision really mean?

“The Republican National Committee has decided against sending Congressional staffers out on the campaign trail for traditional get-out-the-vote efforts, focusing its resources instead on mailings and other last-minute pre-election efforts, the committee confirmed Tuesday.”
Lately, it has seemed like the RNC has gone the way of the Obama administration and ignored the will of the people. With serious missteps in key races and a national morale problem, the RNC really doesn’t get it.

Dana Loesch reports that after a few posts on Twitter that the RNC responded:

“Shortly thereafter I got an email from RNC spokesman Doug Heye about the matter asking me to call him…

In light of the recent criticisms against the RNC, with the Hawaii conference, Steele’s cross-country tour, I can see why the RNC would want to rectify an ineffective and expensive program to ward off further accusations of wasteful spending – so long as the money saved stays with their GOTV efforts, which Heye explained that it would.

Heye discussed the RNC’s other GOTV efforts.

‘We have 352 victory offices funded by us throughout country. We’ve crossed the 20 million contact threshold – contact in messages left, door knocks, phone calls. We’re ahead of where we were in 2008 and in the next five weeks we’ll have a minimum of two million more contacts.’”

Does the RNC only read the New York Times? Have they paid attention to the countless articles by conservative journalists, bloggers and organizational leaders? GOTV is key the winning an election. A copy of the “proprietary and confidential” “After Action” report from the data company used by the DNC, ACORN, SEIU, Obama for America/Organizing for America contains startling facts and figures that need viral attention fast.

GOTV is key the winning an election.

Yes, it is.

This is why many FReepers believed there must have been fraud in cases where there was not. For example, I recall seeing team after team of Democrats working on GOTV, but not a single GOP one, in a largely Republican precinct...should it have been any shock that the vote counts didn't match the R:D ratio?

But what does the RNC’s decision really mean?

What it's always meant. They're part of The Ruling Class and they don't like their minions telling them how things are going to be.

State, county, and township GOP organizers need to make up for Michael Steele and the country clubber, bourgeoisie ineptitude at the top.

By and large informed voters don’t need to be told to vote. When you pressure people to vote they usually pad the tally for the wrong candidate. A low key remier is all the conservatives need I think.

This year, I’ve participated in phone banks, and I’ve given to individual candidates in tough races. I refuse to give one thin dime to the incompetent RNC. I don’t want my hard earned dollars going to Michael Steele’s Luau Stripper Fund.

Wasn’t the 10-2-10 rally a good measure of this year’s DNC get out the vote effectiveness?

Except for the McLame RINO campaign, I have seen little to indicate that the RINO’s running the withering branch of the GOP are doing much beside wetting their pants in fear that the old boy system in Washington is about to get an enema.

The good news is that America is basically conservative, angry and energized without them. I have never seen so many responses to online polls. That really needs to be measured as it tells us if people are starting to pay attention and hold opinions.

Perhaps this is one institution that will be terminated at the end of it’s useful life cycle rather than, like the March of Dimes, start a whole new life cycle to bilk the trusting.

When I was in Reno recently and picked up the local newspaper - I read on a distant page in small print about how the dems have registered 10,000 Hispanics (who cares if they are illegal or legal) - enough votes to manipulate the election for the Reid’s.

If the republicans don’t have a strategy to counteract fraudulent voting, we are going to be stuck with these filthy hacks.

Here’s the real issue. Unlike the Democrats, where the Party and the Liberal Movement are in essence one entity (with various auxiliaries, such as Lib interest groups, unions, etc), the GOP and Conservative Movement (especially with the TEA Party) are pretty distinct.

While people are ticked off at the Dems, all the polls show that they’re just as pissed off at the GOP. It’s the TEA Party that’s surging, and the TEA Party that’s going to really drive voter turnout this cycle - and do it for candidates on an individual level.

Extrapolating all the comments around here over the last few years about hanging up on GOP fundraising calls, sending back GOP mailings, etc, out to those inclined to vote for Republican candidates, I’d guess the Republican Party has concluded that a GOP-focused GOTV effort may actually be detrimental to Republicans winning.

The RNC is too busy fretting and fighting the tidal wave of Tea Party candidates to worry about actually winning elections against democrats.

This has long been one of my greatest concerns about the RNC. Their elitist disdain for the hoi poloi makes them incapable of seeing the value of boots-on-the-ground organizing. Thank God for AFP and its grassroots efforts. ALG made feints at grassroots organizing for a while, but with a contentious national political director who forgot that the enemy is on the other side of the ball and not in your own backfield, it became impossible.

In close elections, it’s all about turn-out. The late Paul Weyrich (Free Congress Foundation) perfected the method for voter ID and turnout decades ago. Someone needs to bring it into the computer age and put it to work. Perhaps AFP will.

GOTV can be more effective at the local level. However, the people on the ground need accurate & current voter lists. We had that problem here in the DE primary. With no cooperation from the state GOP, the lists we were working with were almost useless.

I don't think the my county's Republican party has gotten any advice or guidance from the RNC. Thank God! The GOP candidates have been doing lots of block walking, and we're putting out 50,000 door hangers (in our best precincts) listing early voting locations and all the Republican candidates in particular precincts where they are distributed.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Exactly. That’s where the RNC needs to focus their efforts.

It has made another strategic mistake in my state. It is suspending poll watching. Instead they want the poll watchers making calls. The rats are free to make mischief.
