Waters: People Who Signed Mortgage Loans Were "Tricked" (Video)
RealClearPolitics ^ | 13 Oct 10 | Maxine Waters

Posted on 10/14/2010 3:36:12 AM PDT by SkyPilot

VIDEO HERE

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said people were tricked into "liar loans" that they could not afford.

She uses the word "tricked" at least 3 times, and claims that all irresponsible mortgage owners were simply too stupid to know any better.

Maxine Waters wouldn't answer if her husband's bank is doing principal write-offs as she is suggesting other banks are doing. She brushed off the question and said this interview is not about her husband.

“When they realized what the minimum payment was and how many years it would take to pay it off they blamed George Bush, Dick Cheney and all the rich bankers. Now they are refusing to pay it off citing that they were tricked into using the card. “

They should be blaming the NEA and the Dept. of Education for their ignorance.

If those home buyers are that stupid, should they be allowed to drive and to vote?

The only picked tricked are the ones that have ever voted for a Democrat.

If someone is “tricked” into voting for Democrats over multiple elections well then they get upgraded to just stupid!

Okay; you got a mortgage you couldn’t afford and want to claim it was not fair? GTF out of the house, and shut up.

I can’t think of a single thing that hag Waters has ever said that I agree with, but I do agree with this
“claims that all irresponsible mortgage owners were simply too stupid to know any better.”

I mean, really, how stupid do you have to be to get an interest only loan on a house!!!

Stupid or not, they got the loan, so they either need to figure out a way to pay the mortgage or get foreclosed on.

Obama Choice helpd Gannie block oversight
National security adviser tied to discrediting of probe.

Years before fanie Mae foundered amid a massive accounting scandal, President Obama’s choice for national security adviser oversaw an office inside the mortgage giant that orchestrated a negative puvlicity blitz to fight attempts by Congress to increase government oversight, records show.
Thomas E Donilon, who won the job as national security adviser this month, worked as a registered lobbyist for Fannie Mae from 1999 to 2005 at the time the companies officials insisted finances were sound. He also earned more that $1.8million in bonuses before the government took over the troubled comapny in the wake of an accounting scandal.

“the lied to us”. Right. Anyone making 25K a year could pay for a $750K mortgage! If anyone so inclined thought as much, they were over paid at 25K a year and probably never got beyond 3rd grade in math, the point where one learns division...like 30 years into 750K is exactly what I make, GROSS.

QUESTION Do her working class constituents know Maxine Waters used their tax dollars to help her husband's investment in OneUnited...that tax dollars were used to finance a luxurious lifestyle for OneUnited bank chairman and CEO Kevin Cohee, including a Porsche and a mansion on the exclusive Pacific Coast Highway?

Cohee's high-flying perks came despite his having been charged in 2007 with felonies after his arrest on suspicion of possessing cocaine, crack cocaine and concentrated cannabis, according to the Los LA County DA's office. The case was dismissed the next year after Cohee completed a drug diversion program.

Cohee was also arrested in 2007 after a woman filed a complaint alleging that Cohee had forcibly sodomized her, according to public records. Prosecutors did not pursue the assault charge.

OneUnited Bank Chairman and CEO, Kevin Cohee
JD, Harvard Law School
Board Member, Boston Bank Of Commerce
Formerly with Salomon Bros, Inc.

I hear that, these days, Cohee has the affirmative action office of Harvard Law School on speed-dial.

Maxine Waters is another one of my favorites, along with Pelosi. Here she proposes a bill that would require lenders to make loan modifications to keep homeowners in their homes prior to for-closure (???already losing me), by reducing principle owed, or reducing interest rates and asserts three times that no-one has to lose money on the deal. To his credit the host tells her :” Writing down the principle IS losing money” and being caught she responds with “the houses were overvalued anyway they are not worth what is owed

Maxine you moron, if I bought a car and it was repossessed because I stopped payments and the card dealer (mean the lender) sued me for his loss on my car loan, would Maxine say I owe him nothing because the car was overvalued when I bought it?

Then she is asked about people who are actually willing to pay their loans back, if her bill is a moral hazard to them/us, she replies "The ones defaulting were tricked..." but not us responsible ones apparently

Video at : Waters: People Who Signed Mortgage Loans Were "Tricked

Maxine the Marxist. Didnt McCain propose something like this in 2008 using TARP funds?

Academy award-worthy acting job.

WATERS' DOING HER VICTIMIZATION ACT--PLAYING THE RACE CARD

Waters blamed Bush for her current problems---saying she "had to intervene" with the Treasury Dept on behalf of minority-owned banks---including one tied to her husband -- b/c Bush's Treasury people wouldn't schedule appointments for minority-owned banks.

Same old, same old. Whenever a liberal is in deep do-do, they automatically go into their "Victimization Act"......and bashing Bush is so dependable.

Actually they were tricked by the teachers who failed to teach them to read or do basic math. They also tricked themselves by thinking they were getting away with something by not studying in school and telling themselves they could swing a lifestyle they couldn’t.

If they had read their contracts and figured out that they could no way afford their homes, they wouldn’t have been in this fix.
