Combat Veterans For Congress

Had a wonderful day in the Golden State, starting with a great gathering of patriots in Bakersfield and ending with a gathering of America’s finest in San Diego at an event for Combat Veterans For Congress.

There are 24 Combat Veterans For Congress candidates running in 18 states this year. You can visit the organization’s website here to learn more about them.

These candidates embody the integrity and courage we need in our leadership in D.C. They’ve already taken the oath to support and defend our Constitution, and there is no statute of limitations on that oath. It was a great honor to meet so many of them last night and to offer my thanks in person for their willingness to once again answer our country’s call to service.

Understood, although I give veterans, particularly those who served in combat, a closer look in primaries where there are several competing for the nomination.

Now they’re doing battle with democrats, so it’s an easy choice. The combat veteran Republican over the democrat.

I’m sorry, my mistake on the veterans group involved.
I cannot claim caffeine deprivation.

Still very disheartening that the VFW would do this. Will just have to send more money to Col West.

Please re-read my post. Perhaps I did not state it clearly enough. The organization I mentioned was the VFW, and, as I stated:

"How can any veteran fail to support a patriot like West--a man who understands and articulates America's founding ideas, a proven leader of men and women who loves the Constitution's limits on government's coercive power, and who has such a broad and deep understanding of the history and philosophy of our enemies in the world?"

It is not his being a veteran which qualifies West, it is his devotion to the founding ideas of liberty, his ability to articulate and defend those ideas, and his experience as a military leader, combined with his knowledge of history which would qualify him, not only for being a Congressman, but as a potential debater and opponent of Obama.

Sorry if my comment was misleading, but the President's fund-raising visit to South Florida today accentuates the urgency of my point.

For any who doubt, listen to his speeches and interviews on youtube in order to be convinced.

To me a conservative combat veteran is a better choice than the incumbant democrat lawyer any day. The young vet would be much more likely to be willing to learn and to truly strive to serve his country with honor and to defend the Constitution.

The other...Well, that’s how we got in this mess, but the Lib would be too arrogant to see it.

I’m sorry, but I could only deal with the subject of this thread when I posted it this morning, because its aim is to get donations for the COMBAT VETERANS and to alert FReepers about these fine COMBAT VETERANS in our districts.

Thank you for also alerting us to the horrid endorsement of Lt Col West’s opponent, which is reprehensible and unfathomable.
