SEOUL, South Korea The North Korean leader, Kim Jong-il, attended a massive military parade with his youngest son and designated successor on Sunday as the ruling Communist regime celebrated the 65th founding of its Workers Party.
The son, Kim Jong-un, wearing a dark suit despite his recent promotion to four-star general, watched the festivities and reviewed squads of goose-stepping troops with his 68-year-old father and other senior politicians and generals. The event was held in Kim Il-sung Square, named for Kim Jong-uns grandfather, the founder of the North Korean state.

Kim Jong Un ping.
Maybe just a coincidence: the highest ranking defector from the north was found dead on the same day. On the other hand he was 87.

He’s as good-looking as his father.
I hope we don’t have to look at his face for the next 60 years...
I think the first name is Pat.
really
His hair was there
someone needs to pluck it
Another Fat Pig Socialist Pr*ck like psychopath daddy and grandpa.
The North Koreans are forever starving to death under this subhuman communist monarchy.
OHH face that only father could love LOL!
evidently the only guy on the podium who can afford a watch
Bad news about Hwang.
Did you hear?
Did a DPRK agent get to him???!!
No definite word yet. To me, it looks like a death by natural cause. His timing of death could be just a coincidence.
It may just be a coincidence, but it seems interesting to me.
a) Kim Jong il looked very depressed, saddened, and I would say even worried--he clearly wore it on his face yesterday. He looked over a number of times as his young son to see "how he was holding up" and his eyes also eyed the KPA senior Generals around him. I suspect that Kim Jong il knows it will probably be only a matter of time that his son is removed from power, and it might also happen while Kim himself is alive--which will make them a "two-fer".
b) Kim Jong Un, while trying to put on a show, could not help but expose his age and inexperience through his body language. There was absolutely no confidence whatsoever. His eyes darted around and had a concerned, nervous tinge to them. He also eyed military and senior Party officials around him, combined with the "1,000 yard stare" at the massive crowd in Kim Il Sung Square, with nary an exusion of confidence. I think the son reverberated the father and the father reverberated the son.
Despite all the hoopla, and secret police at their every beckon, there is no honor nor loyalty among COMMUNISTS and they know they are yet a turbulent night's distance between life and power on the one hand, and the gallows or a poisoning in their first class faire, on the other.
Just my intuition watching them very closely and viewing videos of that parade over and over. Perhaps tonights Sankei Shimbun above the fold, full color, photo captured this sentiment most concisely. I hope all have a chance to see it. IMHO it spoke volumes.
This whole sordid and ludicrous thing is pathetically put together with duct tape, baling wire, and sealing weax, if you ask me, as clever as they think they are unveiling the DPRK boy-king to the Party, the People and the world in stages like this.
Betting pool, anyone??!!
Lil’Jr. being promoted to the same rank as those seasoned Generals around him has got to set their blood to boiling.
After pops bites the dust, I bet Jr. doesn’t doesn’t last much longer than the funeral.
Kim Jong il did it, because he can only trust his own blood, his own extreme inner family circle. He knows everyone outside of that circle, wants to or has the will to, “plug” him at any time. There have already been many attempts since the 1970s.
Don’t they look well fed - in stark contrast to the starving people of North Korea.
Hey AIT I saw replay on CNN International I think you are right it seem that both Chia Chub and Chia Pet look very nervous it wasn’t stage fright the dude look nervous Chia Chub did
That kid going be out of power in a year after dear ole Daddy Chia Pet kick the bucket
One could pick that sentiment up, yes.
