Two immediate observations:

a) Kim Jong il looked very depressed, saddened, and I would say even worried--he clearly wore it on his face yesterday. He looked over a number of times as his young son to see "how he was holding up" and his eyes also eyed the KPA senior Generals around him. I suspect that Kim Jong il knows it will probably be only a matter of time that his son is removed from power, and it might also happen while Kim himself is alive--which will make them a "two-fer".

b) Kim Jong Un, while trying to put on a show, could not help but expose his age and inexperience through his body language. There was absolutely no confidence whatsoever. His eyes darted around and had a concerned, nervous tinge to them. He also eyed military and senior Party officials around him, combined with the "1,000 yard stare" at the massive crowd in Kim Il Sung Square, with nary an exusion of confidence. I think the son reverberated the father and the father reverberated the son.

Despite all the hoopla, and secret police at their every beckon, there is no honor nor loyalty among COMMUNISTS and they know they are yet a turbulent night's distance between life and power on the one hand, and the gallows or a poisoning in their first class faire, on the other.

Just my intuition watching them very closely and viewing videos of that parade over and over. Perhaps tonights Sankei Shimbun above the fold, full color, photo captured this sentiment most concisely. I hope all have a chance to see it. IMHO it spoke volumes.

This whole sordid and ludicrous thing is pathetically put together with duct tape, baling wire, and sealing weax, if you ask me, as clever as they think they are unveiling the DPRK boy-king to the Party, the People and the world in stages like this.

Lil’Jr. being promoted to the same rank as those seasoned Generals around him has got to set their blood to boiling.

After pops bites the dust, I bet Jr. doesn’t doesn’t last much longer than the funeral.
