The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has more than doubled its spending on political attack ads since Tuesday, prompting criticism from liberal groups that question the origin of the funds.

The chamber reported spending $9.3 million on ads targeting Democrats in eight Senate and 22 House races since Tuesday. It had spent just less than $9 million this year through Monday.

Chamber President Tom Donohue has pledged to spend $75 million this election season as the business group tries to oust Members who voted for policies it opposes, such as the health care and financial regulatory overhauls.

I guess I missed the questioning by liberal groups of where the funding for MoveOn and Code Pink comes from. Come to think of it, I guess Conservatives didn’t bother asking either cause they assumed it came from the usual Hungarian source.

The Chamber of Commerce is NOT a conservative organization. It is an opportunistic group that puts profits first. Most of its alliances are with the RINO establishment leadership of the Republican party, not the conservative populace.

If they see some financial benefit on an issue they will grab it. Doesn’t matter if it’s a Republican or Democrat idea. The Chamber of Commerce was the biggest supporter for amnesty in 2006/7. It lobbies for overseas trade and outsourcing. It is not to be trusted. Just take their money and run.

...prompting criticism from liberal groups that question the origin of the funds.

Yeah, who do they think they are getting funds voluntarily? Makes coerced funding like union dues - look back.

I wish someone in the Pubbie party had the balls to tell Jug Ears to prove the Chamber is paying for ads with foreign money.

RE :”The accelerated spending in recent days has drawn sharp protests from Democrats and liberal groups, who recently pounced on accusations by Think Progress that the chamber was using foreign corporate dues to pay for ads...."No candidate should sit quietly by and accept help from TV advertising that is furthering the special interest of the chamber," said David Donnelly, director of Campaign Money Watch. The chamber is not required to disclose the companies or individuals underwriting its political activity

This is the new theme at MSNBC and DNC. Foreign corporations have bought the Republicans and Tea Party candidates and will buy the election thanks to Citizen's United decision. How will they buy the election you ask ? (I can read your mind LOL). By running ads against democrats and brainwashing the ‘low information voters’. That is actually the term they use on MSNBC for us(I guess my pings don't count as information). Better yet, these foreign corporations have bribed congressional Republicans to ship US jobs overseas. Why else would Republicans vote against Democrat bills except to ship our jobs overseas? Even obama has jumped in on this foreign influence narrative.

My opinion ? They know they are doomed and are writing the post election script. Foreign corporations and FNC are threatening Democracy by beating Democrats, the people's party, at the polls

On a more serious point, Christine O’ Donnell gave an interview on CNN tonight and looked and sounded very good. No Duh's, No got-yas. She looks good.

‘The Chamber of Commerce is NOT a conservative organization.’

Nobody said they were. They are, however, at this point backing the same candidates that we are, whatever their motivation.
