What is it with Hollywood personalities going to Venezuela and being swept off their feet by the thuggish dictator Hugo Chávez. They come back with these stories claiming he is just misconstrued by the media and that hes really a great guy.
On Oct. 7, at an appearance at the Cato Institute in Washington, D.C., CNBC Power Lunch co-host Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, in an appearance promoting her book You Know I'm Right: More Prosperity, Less Government, explained how this could happen. She told an audience that Chávez has a very charismatic, seductive personality.
I was telling my two most interesting interviews I think Ive ever done are Milton Friedman, very influential on me, and also Hugo Chávez, because when I interviewed him I was struck by how much I like him, she explained. Hes very funny. He is so charming. He is smooth. He could be a stand-up comedian. He is a seductor, as I suspect most dictators are thats how they get to where they are.

I’m sure he was all over Michelle. I’m guessing she’s right up his alley.
I find Hugo to be a very thick waisted man of thick waisted thinking. But then, I am not in the movie business, so what would I know?
Snake oil salesman, tyrant, and dictator. Castro with a better laugh track.
ugh.... gag
” ‘Funny,’ ‘Charming,’ ‘A Seductor,’ but ‘Dangerous’ “
Sounds like the “CNBC Anchor” has been reading Hugo’s Computer Dating profile...
This is the same Pravda Media that calls the Tea Party a "threat" and says they dress "poorly".
That's RACIST.
I think we should call this the “Sarfatti Syndrome.”

I think what she was saying is that he may be charming and all but he is dangerous. She is not in his corner. She is saying the charm allows too many to be taken in by him and his destructive ways. She is one of the few truly free market anchors on CNBC. Give her a break!

What the hell is a “seductor”?
I have no problem with her descriptions. Most dictators are charismatic, charming, and ‘fun’ on personal level but totally dangerous. I prefer her characterization of Chavez as ‘funny, charming but dangerous’ than ‘scary, stiff, but harmless...’ Unfortunately, many liberals seem to see our enemies the latter way...
That would require reading the article, and for comprehension at that; and then actually thinking about what she said.
You should know better to expect that....
You have to admit that she'd inspire Hugo to do his best....
I find guys like Jon Stewart to be douchebags and don’t care if they can tell a “witty joke”.
You have to permit yourself to be “charmed”. The media is quick to denouce any threat to their political agenda even with trumped up charges of racism, violence, and paranoia (projection from the radical left in the media).
Maybe she should talk to the Iranian Nutjob even though she’d claim that she was “rejecting” every horrible thing he was saying “inside her head”.
If she had been confrontational with a man she called “dangerous”, it would not have been a “pleasant” experience for her because he would have been calling her a minion of Satan just as he did the US.
Well, we know what her two best traits are...
