DALLAS - A transgender senior at North Dallas High School wants to run for homecoming queen. But school administrators won't allow it.

Andy Moreno was born a male but has identified herself as female for the past year. She looks and acts like a girl.

She said that has never caused any problems for her at school.

However, her nomination for homecoming queen has caused some controversy.

Now back to the confused young man. In my day, the last thing a kid with his issues would be doing is looking for attention. It's a very sad era we are living in.

Yes, it is sad. When I was in high school (that was nearly 20 years ago), this kid would have been sent to the counselor in an effort to determine why he chose to be a freak.

What kills me is how the Parents treat the kid's confusion as normal behavior. Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame I guess.

It’s funny you mention the Napoleon thing, because my daughter and I were going over the family tree my sis-in-law made on Ancestry.com, and back in the 1800s, there was an ancestor with the name Napoleon Bonaparte something-or-other (can’t remember the last name now). My daughter thought that was both hysterically funny and creepy at the same time.

(BTW, one of my husband’s ancestors discovered Mammoth Cave, but that’s another story for another day)

That was my main point and the reporter wrote me back saying “she” is a transgender in fact.

In the story she said “she feels she is a transgender”.
